25.01.2022 We know that #hearingaids are not necessarily the solution to #hearing conditions. If you’re interested in improving your communication skills, Soundfair Active Communication Education can help you and a friend or family member learn strategies to help make communication easier. The course lasts five weeks and requires a two-hour commitment per week. There is only 10 places available (room for 5 pairs) so get in quick! If interested, send an EOI to [email protected]
21.01.2022 In June 2020, Better Hearing Victoria became Soundfair. We celebrated our transformation with an online event, where our CEO, Caitlin Barr, illustrated why change is needed to ensure that the unmet needs of people with #hearing conditions are addressed: http://ow.ly/KO9T50CORKp
18.01.2022 Do you know the story behind our logo? The use of a question mark inside an ear was a considered choice. The question mark indicates the importance of asking questions and having conversations to catalyse change. It asks: does this sound fair to you? are you/is the system/society empowering hearing equality? What questions should we be asking in 2021? Comment below!
13.01.2022 A core project for 2020 was developing an innovative model of #hearingcare that challenged the notion that hearing devices are the only solution. In January 2020, we were honoured to bring together a group of experts from across Australia to participate in a co-design workshop hosted by the Impact Assembly (of PwC Australia) to reimagine #hearingcare. We brought together lived experience, academic, clinical, policy and professional issues into one room for the purpose of improving the lives of people with #hearingconditions. This marked the first of many projects whereby we use human-centred design to ensure our programs and services meet the needs of people with hearing conditions. Do you want to take part in building a world of #hearingequality? Join us! https://soundfair.org.au/join-soundfair/
