24.01.2022 10 Rater club heat Today - Purvis Trophy Flukey winter conditions greeted 9 ten raters Today The fog eventually cleared : Tony opened his account with a first in a race 1: which had skippers guessing what side was best!... Brian and Daryle had some head scratching moments with the widely changing conditions for the first 5 heats Early wins by Jeff Watson and Alan Gold showed that the conditions could be mastered - Alan Gold, Tim Arland and Jeff Watson had a close tussle - Unfortunately gear failure let Jeff Down in the end! Eventually the wind settled, Tony settled with conditions and achieved 4 bullets! Podium 3rd Tim Arland, 2nd Alan Gold - Top step was Tony with his strong finish! Big thanks to Brian and Daryle for running the show (in challenging conditions)

24.01.2022 A few more 10 rater videos thanks Simon

24.01.2022 Marblehead Club Championship - started in South to South West breeze 10-15knots. Champagne Marblehead sailing conditions! A Rigs all the way - some nice fast runs made excellent viewing! 10 boats took to the water on A rigs - Ian Dowsett started out with a first and backed it up with more podium finishes throughout the day.... Tim, Alan and Ian battled with each other all day - after early troubles Jeff Watson wanted a piece of the actions as well! However it was Tony who was out in front with 9 races on the top step! Big thanks to Norm and Peter who keep the event in order, also acknowledgement to Cameron White running the scoring software!

23.01.2022 Today's 10 rater sailing very nice day for a float

21.01.2022 4th round of the SARYC club championship Light conditions from an almost steady SW direction 6 boats enjoyed the beautiful sunny day - champagne sailing for the powerful 10 raters... The light conditions suited Alan B's loaned dual rated Indie - who opened his account with a race win and top half of the card heat finishes throughout the day! Tim Arland started strongly, but the Bobsled has had further niggling technical issues preventing him from showing the experimental designs real potential Alan G and Tony started trading heat wins with a long tedious arm wrestle throughout the day: where they were trying to keep separation on the main fleet, where tangles proved costly for their overall result. Tony eventually push home consistency to be eventual winner on the day by only 2 points, Alan G 2nd, Bob Watson 3rd Note: 2nd round of the championship to be resailed in November

21.01.2022 Later in the afternoon the wind strengthed, so Jeff Ireland brought out the smaller guns... DF95 with a C-Rig!

20.01.2022 After SARYC World Masters concluded, the more junior skippers were let on the water! Some skippers were fortunate to have their boats tuned by master skippers earlier in the day. Tim and Tony started very strongly out in front. Alan Gold with his green F6 was consistently on the podium throughout the day! Heat 8 proved impossible for observer and scorer to declare who finished 1st 2nd and 3rd where Tony Tim and Alan G were declared to have been a dead heat (very fitting for t...he podium placed boats to be all together) Absolutely Champagne Sailing on A Swing rigs for the RMs Tony finished his day with 9 heat wins over Tim who pushed him all day. P Hendy and Johan did a fantastic Job Being RO and Scorer...

18.01.2022 DF65 and DF95 short course racing - got to keep those skills sharp before the state titles in a few weeks!

17.01.2022 10 Jan 2021 IOM Club Championship 1 - Race 2

17.01.2022 3rd round of the Transom cup (interclub handicap Marblehead event) today hosted by SARYC Light conditions confronted the skippers of the Interclub series Glass NE breezes quickly changed to a gentle SW changeable breeze for the best part of the 12 heats raced in handicap format Stirling's Jeff Gerrard took the top spot, followed by Graham Alcock from Paris Creek 2nd Step, rounding out the podium SA Radio YC's Jeff Watson: on the personal scoresheets... Team Scores Taken from the Top 4 representatives from each club on the score sheet: SARYC 20pts [3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th] SMRCYC 28pts [1st, 6th, 7th and 14th] SEHMYC 45pts [2nd, 10th, 16th and 17th] SARYC finally made amends for their bad previous showings at other venues with a solid performance on home waters Thank you for all skipper and helpers who attended the events over the three sailing days Ben Morris will post the final team points to determine the Transom cup winner for 2020 It would be awesome to get more Marblehead skippers involved in this interclub event 2021. Big thanks to the Paris Creek guys who sailed in the event after their absence for a few years. From SARYC members thanks for a great day!

16.01.2022 Last round of the IOM club championship Solid day on B rigs (unless you were extremely brave) 4 way battle at the top with Alan Gold, John Gratton, Tim Arland and Norm Wallis exchanging salvos all day. Tim and Norm eyeing each other off with the big picture at stake Eventually Tim sailed more consistently taking the win Today!

16.01.2022 Any volunteers for the jury?

15.01.2022 A Class Club Championship Rnd 3 - Oerlemans Cup 8 Boats - made their way to the race course, then proceeded to drift around the course for race 1 (almost timing out) Conditions improved from the South West to a steady 5-10kn Bob Watson with his new boat showed how great light weather potential - before a technical glitch finished his day early!... Bob Whitehead , Alan Gold and Tony White tussled for the middle part of the series. Tim was a league of his own where he dropped a first! Tony Clear second and the final podium position Alan Gold

13.01.2022 Today we had our World Masters Marblehead event.... The qualification to be eligible is quite difficult. So it is one of the top shelf events that SARYC hosts and quite coveted by our more experienced members! The event was conducted in a condensed format today to make enough time for the RMs club championship later: This year we ran it as a fleet race for three heats where age was noted for divisional glory 1st Norm Wallis (Master >76yo)... 2nd Brian Purvis (OBE >82yo) 3rd Chris Jutner (Master >76yo) 4th Ian Dowsett (Master >76yo) 5th Kevin Bowden (Grand Master >79yo) Winner of Master DIV was Norm Wallis Winner of Grand Master and OBE DIV's was Brian Purvis Congratulations to all involved - it was great to see our most experienced skippers having a spirited sail together!

11.01.2022 Nice arvo for DF sailing today lots of lessons learnt but all had fun

08.01.2022 Barging boats at starboard end of a start line is a dangerous game! Have a read about the rules involved! http://www.mysailing.com.au//rules-barging-in-at-the-boat-

07.01.2022 10 Jan 2021 IOM Club Championship 1 - Race 3

07.01.2022 Huge fleet of IOMs on Sunday: 16 Boats was a really great turn out! Sunday managed to give breeze from almost all points of the compass John Gratton Opened his account with a Win in the First heat followed closely by David Lane... John, Tim and Norm managed to keep on top of the ever changing conditions throughout the middle of the Series Alan Gold and David made a late charge for the podium, unfortunately the day timed out after some lost time with Protest hearings Norm Was clearly the master on Sunday, never scoring outside the top 5 - Congratulations and a well deserved win!

06.01.2022 Today's Marblehead racing great day out with 9 boats on the course
