25.01.2022 To all of our footballers, netballers, volunteers and club members, are you ready to accept the challenge? The Country Club Challenge is encouraging all players to stay active during isolation and to test their skills in different ways! They're looking for creative videos of how you've been practicing your skills throughout isolation. There are some great club prizes up for grabs including visits by AFL and netball legends.... If you're up for the challenge, film yourself doing your creative workout and post it to the Country Club Challenge Facebook page and use the #CountryClubChallenge. Make sure you also tag South Bendigo FNC so they know which club to award the points! Points are awarded per video that is shared so the more videos shared, the more points we receive. Check out their Facebook page for some inspiration. Good luck and we can't wait to see your videos!

18.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that we were recently successful in obtaining a grant to replace our very, very old pie warmer at the Harry Trott canteen. A huge thank you to Energy Safe Victoria in partnership with AFL Victoria for selecting our application as part of their 2020 Safer Canteens program. We look forward to cranking up the new pie warmer when we resume in 2021!

18.01.2022 MEDIA RELEASE AFL Central Victoria 2020 Season Announcement During the current pandemic, AFL Central Victoria’s number one priority has continued to be the health and wellbeing of its clubs, players, officials, and volunteers across the region. Acutely aware of the mental and physical... benefits a return to community sport offered, our primary objective has been to offer junior participation opportunities in 2020 provided it was in a safe, achievable, and sustainable manner. We are extremely grateful that we were able to offer a return to community sport in some form this year, albeit brief, and witnessed the enjoyment it brought so many during this difficult period. As we advised last week, due to the spike in local Covid-19 cases, all matches and trainings across the region were halted. Together with recent announcements of Stage 3 restrictions to Regional Victoria by the State Government, today we regrettably announce the difficult yet necessary decision that the Bendigo Junior Football League (BJFL), Bendigo Football Netball League (BFNL) and AFL Central Victoria Netball Competition will not resume in 2020. We extend our sincere thanks to all of our hardworking member clubs and Presidents, including their dedicated and passionate players, coaches and officials, volunteers, committees, members, supporters, along with all valued sponsors of AFL Central Victoria and the Bendigo FNL/Bendigo JFL, for their continued support and understanding during these challenging and unprecedented circumstances. AFL Central Victoria also extends its thanks to the Bendigo Umpires Association, all local Cricket Associations and Councils for their cooperation and flexibility demonstrated to explore all possible opportunities to return to competition safely in 2020. Recent spikes in transmission of the virus have clearly demonstrated this pandemic is far from over, therefore we all need to continue to play our role in reducing the spread and risk of transmission. First and foremost, the immediate health and wellbeing of everybody associated with football, netball and our local communities in general within the Central Victorian region remains our priority, and when the time is right we look forward to working with all clubs in planning for a successful 2021 season.

15.01.2022 BLOODS STAYING COVID SAFE With Junior Netball and Football about to start up and the BFNL running 2020 U17 Netball and U18 Football competitions; returning to play in a safe, hygienic and controlled manner is paramount to our club. Our primary focus is preparing to return to play in a safe environment in a well-prepared and educated manner. Part of our "education strategy" is the placement of Covid Safety signs around our playing and training environment and we'd like to give... a big shout out to Ben Edwards Signs for providing and donating these signs to our club. Ben is a past player and a good supporter of our club and we appreciate his generous gesture. While on Covid safety please remember if you are a parent or supporter when games are on you must abide by public gathering restrictions. . Spectators must keep 1.5 meters apart. Where venues allow for vehicle access surrounding the oval, spectators are encouraged to remain in their vehicle where possible (subject to Government advice regarding risk for spectators viewing from vehicles, e.g. cohabiting family/household members only). Access to the playing surface is restricted to participants and those reasonably necessary to conduct the competition (e.g. umpires, coaches). There must be no spectators at the coaches huddles between quarters and no accessing the ground for "kick to Kick" during these breaks either. It is the participating Clubs’ responsibility to monitor crowd social distancing and if required they can liaise with Police to enforce social distancing protocols. SO IF ANY CLUB OFFICIAL REQUESTS YOU TO LEAVE THE GROUND PLEASE DON"T TAKE OFFENCE. WE ARE ONLY DOING THE RIGHT THING BY OUR CLUB AND ENSURING COMPLIANCE WITH THE GOVERNMENTS COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS.
