13.01.2022 The Fire Danger Period is nearing to a close for the season. The Fire Danger Period for the Surf Coast Shire Council will conclude at 0100 hours on Monday 13 May, 2019. The conclusion of the Fire Danger Period is based on the change in local fire risk conditions. Burning off grass, stubble, weeds, undergrowth or other vegetation is generally permitted outside the Fire Danger Period but local laws on burn-offs can apply year-round - check your local Council regulations for further information.
10.01.2022 Heads Up: as of 1st May 2019 the updated Australian Standard for Construction of Buildings in Bushfire Prone Areas (AS 3959 : 2018) will be introduced. Further information will be posted in the coming weeks.
