23.01.2022 Gday to everyone that follows the South coast reptile society. The committee of the society would like to encourage the growth of knowledge between us members of the society and encourage socialising with new people. We are asking our members that every month we each choose a species to focus on and research it. This research will cover the basics like -native/exotic... -diet -distribution -breeding -birthing -scientific name (bonus points for anyone who can pronounce there chosen species) For our first set of our society’s homework we encourage our current members to participate in our group activity and research about your own most desired species you would like to keep one day. Then either tell someone in the society in person, or tell the whole society if your feeing confident about your chosen species. Our society treasurer, Darrel can’t wait to get his hands on a unus luscus bracae serpens one day in the future, if he’s lucky! The very first person who can guess what species the unus luscus bracae serpens is and tell one of the committee members at the next meeting on the third of April will receive a free sausage sizzle and drink. From committee we cannot wait to see what species our members would love to possibly keep one day in the future. See you all at the next meeting held at the shoalhaven zoos brown shed on the third of April.

11.01.2022 Remember its meeting night this Friday (3rd) and we have James Watkins coming to talk about monitors! James has fantastic knowledge of all monitors and has maintained a collection of multiple species for many years! He has been published in magazines and is the head of the Biology department he works at! The talk he will be giving will focus mainly on members from the Ridge-tail family as these are some of the most commonly keep monitors not only in Australia but also in t...he world! James should have a couple animals for us to have a look at, this will be talk not to miss! Talk starts at 7pm but come early and grab a bite to eat and have a catch up with all the members!

09.01.2022 Gday everyone just a reminder to anyone interested in reptiles or animals in general that live within shoalhaven or nearby region that the South Coast Reptile Society has their monthly meeting tonight. Held at the shed in front of shoalhaven zoo and adventure world. The talk will be covering making your own mini backyard eco systems to cater for many varieties species not just reptile related. This is rather important in our current situation after all the bushfires to hel...p with the recovery of many local species looking for shelter and possibly new breeding sanctions. If you are interested in tonight’s speech, or would like to possibly trade some animals or enclosure, please show up around 7pm the speech will start at 7:30. Anyone who is interested but not a member will be able to enter for free and have dinner/drink for free on their first night at the society. Existing members... please spread the word, show up and bring a friend or two. On behalf of the south coast reptile society, we hope to see you tonight See more
