25.01.2022 Look at the delightful hands on this baby. Bub is only 19 weeks. That hand is about 2cm in size! So cute.

24.01.2022 It’s time to get to know more about the sonographers at South Coast Ultrasoud for Women. There are 8 of us. We have an average age of 38.4 years! We have 12 children between us and 10 dogs! Collectively we have 65years of scanning experience. We conducted a survey and found the following results....... feel free to share your preferences with us

24.01.2022 Poor Mr Elf is sweating bullets! He’s been massaging for ages.

21.01.2022 Another ultrasound success story. This baby was being monitored closely as he wasn’t growing very well. The decision was made to deliver him a few weeks before his due date. He is out and doing well! Congratulations to the family.

20.01.2022 This is the view from our Shellharbour rooms this morning!

18.01.2022 Things are certainly moving along now! Mrs Elf is in the bathroom and she either really does need a poo or more likely needs to push out a little Elf!

17.01.2022 We just took the most perfect image of a fetus at 8 weeks 1 day. Wow. Look at the limb buds, and the yolk sac. Just 'textbook' perfect.

17.01.2022 Ultrasound does it again! We generally use 3D imaging for ‘fun’ and bonding, however this is really when we see it’s important use. Maverick was noted to have a unilateral cleft lip at the 19 week scan. Later in the pregnancy we were able to get a 3D image to give the parents a good idea of how extensive the cleft was and what they could expect when he was born. They were able to visit the specialist clinic in Sydney prior to his birth and had tutorials on applying the strip you see in one of the photos. He also has a plan for surgery in the coming months. I am proud to be a sonographer to help couples like Mavericks parents. It’s also a joy to work these midwifery shifts to get to hold the babies and see them in the flesh!

17.01.2022 Mrs Elf is in active labour. She is making good use of the ‘birthing bauble’! Mr Elf is being as supportive as ever! What a great team.

15.01.2022 When you are being forced to perform at your ultrasound & all you want to do is sleep!

13.01.2022 HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY SONOGRAPHER SARAH. Join us in wishing our favourite sonographer a very happy 30th birthday. Get to know her a little better in the following bio:... Sarah was born on 4.9.1990 on a steep hill under a full moon. She sometimes goes by the name of Georgios Fotinos. Sarah attended Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry before undertaking ultrasound studies at the Ponds Institute. She majored in twins, probe handling and small talk. Sarah is the current Australian Sonographer record holder in push-ups, and is an ocean rowing champion. Sarah’s hobbies include shelling peanuts and weaving coconut husks. She has a pet bat named ‘Sonic’ and raises Mandrakes in the dark of her ultrasound room. As a child Sarah wanted to be Sailor Moon! Now that she’s an ‘adult’ she’d like to be the first sonographer to perform obstetric ultrasouds in space! What an amazing and interesting person. Join us in wishing her a ‘cracking 30th Birthday’. Welcome to adulthood Sarah (Georgios).

13.01.2022 The dad of this baby asked if it’s ‘still a boy’. Yep! And he’s doing a wee right now! Can you see the jet of urine?

12.01.2022 Amazing how long some animals are pregnant for! Thank heavens we are not elephants or whales.

11.01.2022 Welcome little Sienna. Congratulations to the family.

11.01.2022 Mrs Elf is in the birthing unit and is being assessed. She has a CTG on and all is well with Bub. It’s so exciting.

10.01.2022 Our Shellharbour site has been opened for nearly 4 weeks. It has been a joy to work in such a fresh, modern environment. We are loving it, as are our patients. Little Grace was the first baby to be scanned in one of the two Shellharbour rooms. She was given a coveted ‘special edition’ onesie. What a beautiful model she is too! Thanks Grace for taking part in our grand opening and for sharing your photo. We will see if Grace had any 3D photos taken at her scans and compare them to her real beauty. Congratulations to the family and thank you for joining us at Shellharbour.

10.01.2022 We were seeing double at our Shellharbour site today!

09.01.2022 Papa Elf gives baby ‘Elvis’ his first bath!

07.01.2022 Look at this gorgeous baby. Born just in time for Christmas. Congratulations to the family.

07.01.2022 Did you know that our new Shellharbour rooms are staffed by the same brilliant and friendly sonographers that work at the Wollongong rooms? We are rotating through both sites. All of our scans continue to be reported on by our specialist Sonologists . They also happen to be obstetrician/gynaecologists. If you owned a Lamborghini you wouldn’t take it to the ‘corner garage’ to be checked? No...you would go to the Lamborghini professionals. So bring your ‘lady bits’ and babies to the people who specialise in that field! We can’t wait to see you at either Shellharbour or at Wollongong.

06.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all of the past, present and future dads to come through our practice. We hope you have a wonderful day. It was lovely to see this dad show his full emotional range during a recent scan. It’s not often babies look so much like their dads....full beard and all!

06.01.2022 Papa Elf gets his first cuddle.

05.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for attending your scan wearing a mask. We appreciate your help in keeping our mums, dads, babies and staff safe.

05.01.2022 Mr Elf went out to ‘wet the baby’s head’! I don’t think he really understood the human meaning of that saying, but it looks like he had a lovely time.

04.01.2022 NSW health directive....We are back in Face masks! It is highly recommended that you also wear a face mask for your upcoming scan.

04.01.2022 The Elves are on the ward! Breastfeeding is happening...but it looks like elf nipples are prone to damage too! Hopefully they will be home in time for santa to visit tomorrow.

04.01.2022 Were you huge in a pregnancy? Send us a photo! You can cover your face (and nipples!) with emojis if you like. Loving the hair style of this very pregnant monkey.

03.01.2022 Mr & Mrs Elf, and little baby Elvis have gone home! Just in time for Christmas. What a beautiful journey they have taken us on. I do hope Mrs Elf’s nipples are feeling better! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas. We look forward to seeing you all soon.

02.01.2022 Who’s your daddy? We are trying to determine who the father to this baby is. Can you help? It’s Fathers Day and we would like to send him a Father’s Day greeting.

02.01.2022 Welcome Darci Rae. Born 31.8.2020. Weighing 3.5kg. One of the first babies scanned at our new Shellharbour site. She is ‘rocking’ that special edition onesie! It’s hard to believe we have been open for 5 weeks now. We love it, hopefully all of our mums and dads are loving it too.

01.01.2022 Mrs Elf is expertly using water to help get through labour. It’s working. She’s very relaxed. Mr Elf has even stepped out for some lunch. He’s sticking to the 4 main food groups....candy, candy canes, candy corns and syrup!
