Reminder all players to wear black armbands & at 11:45am all games will have a minute silence to honour the late Jason Bullpitt. Thanks & all the best for the season

25.01.2022 Can Gingin go back to back? Only the 2019/2020 season will tell. 12 games, while not ideal it will bring the competition tighter and make the battle more interesting. Good luck to all the teams in Round 1 & 2 and may we play within the spirit of cricket and enjoy the company of the people we have today and the people unfortunately we have lost. Cricket is a privilege, not just a sport. Just remember that & enjoy the Sunday no matter what the outcome may be we all get to share a beer with each other, friend; foe; enemy. We are a unit to be reckoned with and a sleeping beast to be opened at Country Week.

17.01.2022 **Remaining Finals abandoned & End of Season Awards Postponed** With strong recommendation from the WACA & Cricket Australia relating to Coronavirus. The executive committee has decided that the remaining finals are to be abandoned & the season windup to be postponed to a later date. The decision was not made light heartily.

16.01.2022 Congratulations to Gingin winning todays Grand Final against Bindoon. Bindoon was all out for 82 and Gingin passed the score with 8 wickets in hand. A perfect win for Gingin being the bridesmaids for the last three years. Well done to Captain Jake Edwards & his team.

11.01.2022 Well two teams made it to the big dance with hopes the SMCA could take home the bacon. SMCA B Grade batted first and after 3/66 Daniel Notte and Ben Giles steadied the ship helping the guys get a respectable 157 in the Grand Final. SMCA E Grade bowled first, restricting Port Hedland to 135. Pick of the bowlers was A.Vanzetti taking 3/26 off 6 overs, Captain Jayden Glover producing a solid 2/25 bowling 11 overs with 4 maidens and Cody Even bowling nicely finishing 1/19 off 8 o...vers unfortunately bowling 6 extras. SMCA E Grade Captain fell early sending a shockwave through the camp, before young guns Cody Even & A.Vanzetti steadied the ship. Unfortunately along with J.Whitely who made a solid 26* couldn't get over line in a tense final day of country week. SMCA B Grade striked twice early thanks to the Country Week All Star J.Brennan leaving the opposition 2/16 early on. Fred tied down a end & took early crucial wickets with a better brother performance helping Captain Jacob Edwards strangle the opposition taking 3fa to leave the B Grade in a winning position. Enter Josh Brennan. This guy is on fire. Single handedly winning games with the ball putting a country week performance most would dream of lead the way beating the bat and taking poles all week. Josh Brennan following a 7fa put on a clinic taking another 6 victims in quick succession and securing a man of the match and no doubtful the best player of the week performance taking 6/17 in a Grand Final to secure a B Grade Country Week flag! Shout out to Daniel Notte for notching up a century at Country Week, not an easy task we can asure you. Well done to all the fellow players and supporters who made this possible and we look forward to the finals ahead for the SMCA. Merry Australia Day long weekend and well played to everyone who could make the time to make the association shine!

10.01.2022 On behalf of the association we would like to thank all teams involved in today's grand final, the standard & competitiveness of both teams made it an enjoyable day. A big congratulations goes to Bindoon Bushrangers Cricket Club on their win today, very unlucky for the Gingin Reds Cricket Club falling short by 20 runs. Well done to Clayton Smith how won the player of the match award. We also like to thank the Moora Knights Cricket Club for hosting the grand final providing food & drinks for the day. But the biggest thanks goes to all the spectators that came and watch the game.

08.01.2022 A tribute to Bully on behalf of the South Midlands Cricket Association and the Bindoon Bushrangers, written by Bradley Pietraszek My friend Bully. To say he is gone is gut wrenchingly painful, however our friend has left us. Jason has given so much of his time and effort, blood, sweat and tears to all who knew him. As a team mate you always knew he stood right beside you as loyal as the day was long (and we've had some long ones on the cricket oval). Fierce but always a fair ...and respectful competitor i have not meet his equal as all who played against him will attest. Always happy to encourage younger players as he new the value of bringing on the next generation. His friendship was one that all who considered him thus was priceless, all of us knowing full well how much he enriched our lives. As a father his dedication to Zac and Maddy was always obvious to us all and i know he was extremely proud of the adults you are becoming. To Sally my deepest condolences, to have lost your best friend who absolutely loved you to distraction please know we have you and family in our hearts. To my friend i say thankyou for letting us be a part of your life and know that we will miss always.

Just a heads up that early indications are that most teams are struggling with numbers so if anyone knows players looking for a game or a team now would be a good time to get them involved!
