13.01.2022 With the current COVID-19 virus causing havoc in our world, it has become almost impossible to go outside and have a kick of the football. In addition to this, with no AFL games on TV until at least 31st May (at this stage), it becomes even harder to keep our children engaged with AFL. However there are a number of things you can do within your own home to ensure that our kids keep engaged in Australian Rules Football. One of those things is replicating some of the activitie...s we see on a weekend at Auskick in our own backyards! Each day for the foreseeable future, we will be posting an Auskick activity that you can try out in your backyard. Today's Auskick activity is Handball Heroes!! All you need is a football and a parent/brother/sister/grandparent and you are away! This activity focuses on learning the basics of a handball and then executing the skill. If you want to change it up, you can use your opposite hand to make it more challenging or bring in a timer to see how many handballs you can get in 30 seconds. Here is the link to the video that will explain the activity in greater depth https://youtu.be/Af2SsCzbLbc. Stay tuned for tomorrow at 4pm for another activity that you can do at home :) Stay Safe & Healthy!
