25.01.2022 In 2020 our Waratah (Grade 5-6 class) would normally have gone on a school camp but this year that was not to be. The class made the most of the alternative activities. A visit to Supaworld, T shirt decorating, BBQ dinner, marshmallows around the firepit (Thank you Paul for the new area) and a film with popcorn just in day 1. Day 2 was spent at the beach, watching movies and activities in the classroom after an egg and bacon breakfast. Thank you Miss J for organising lots of fun things for us to participate in.

This will be the last Pre-Kinder session before the school holidays. Please make sure that your uniform orders for 2021 are given to the school office by this day. 19.01.2022 Due to the changes in school practices in response to COVID-19 we are suspending Launch Into Learning sessions for the rest of term 1. We will review the situation at the start of term 2. Jenny has plans to work with Anita to create some resource packs which will be available for families later next week. We will let families know when they are ready for collection. For parents who would like touch base with Jenny during the down time, she can be contacted at school on Fridays in the time that was previously set aside for LiL on 62399126. Stay safe and positive everyone and we look forward to catching up with everyone when LiL resumes.

17.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, IMPORTANT UPDATE - This morning the Premier announced that from Monday parents should keep their children home from school if they can be supervised and supported in their learning. Following on from this advice, Department of Education directive is that school sites will remain open and operating next week for children who can not be supervised and supported to learn at home.... Next week, learning opportunities for South Arm students will continue to be provided as they have been this week. A small number of students have attended for learning on site with all other students being supported and supervised to learn from home with either online or offline resources. This will remain the case unless otherwise directed by the DoE. Parents of our Kindergarten class will have been spoken to by Wendy today regarding arrangements for next week. Any updates over the weekend will be posted here. Stay safe everyone. Maryanne Picone Principal

11.01.2022 In Acacia we have started a unit on freezing and melting. The first experiment looked at how matter can change from a solid to a liquid when heat is applied. First we looked at the properties of materials such as ice, chocolate, honey, plastic and metal. We then predicted what would happen when heat was applied to them. After heating we assessed the results. It was fun.
