25.01.2022 Thanks Stephen!

25.01.2022 This is Sonja and her son Tobias; they know why supporting secure jobs is important for Public Sector workers and their families!

24.01.2022 With this afternoon's announcement meaning South Australia will go into 6 days of lock down from midnight tonight, we thank all of our essential workers, particularly those in the public sector, who will be working tirelessly during this time to keep South Australian's safe.

24.01.2022 Tell Treasurer Rob Lucas what you think about his attempts to slash the working conditions of essential public sector workers who are at the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic - sign the petition today and tell your friends, family and co-workers to do the same! https://www.megaphone.org.au//speak-up-for-essential-worke

23.01.2022 A huge thanks to everyone who has signed the petition already - we've hit nearly 800 signatures in just a few days! If you would like us to send you a paper based version of the petition to share around your workplace please comment below and we will arrange to get it to you.

23.01.2022 So many of our fellow South Australians go to work every day, often putting themselves in harms way, to help and protect us. Nurses, teachers, retail workers, ...cleaners, emergency service workers to name just a few. The South Australian Labor opposition recently introduced legislation to make it easier for many of these workers to access workers compensation if they contract COVID-19. Shamefully, the Steven Marshall Liberal Government has opposed helping frontline workers with this. And now Steven Marshalls Liberals are at it again ... trying to strip conditions and job security from State Government workers such as hospital orderlies, patient support assistants, catering attendants, sterilisation technicians, disability support workers, personal care attendants, in-home support workers and cleaners. If ever there was a time not to pursue an ideological obsession with cutting pay and conditions it is right now. Im proud to speak up for essential workers, and you can speak up by following the link and signing the petition. #SpeakUpForEssentialWorkers United Workers Union https://www.megaphone.org.au//speak-up-for-essential-worke

18.01.2022 Thank you Nadia!

15.01.2022 Another great online meeting tonight! Members heard from Delegates Michelle from Noarlunga Hospital and Jas from Womens and Childrens, who had a great message about how we are all part of this mighty Union and have responsibility in building the union in our workplaces!

15.01.2022 This is what essential workers look like. They work hard to look after those in the community who are sick and vulnerable, but why's the government refusing to look after our #essential workers? Help our essential workers by signing the petition below https://www.megaphone.org.au//support-essential-public-sec

14.01.2022 Speak up for Essential Workers - sign the petition now & ask your work mates, family and friends to do the same! https://tinyurl.com/y7n3zg3q

14.01.2022 Thanks for the support Nat!

14.01.2022 Public health care workers are set to lose job security and working conditions, even as they work to stop the spread of COVID-19 in South Australia. We're calli...ng out SA Treasurer Rob Lucas for attempting to slash the working conditions of vital health workers. In light of the current crisis the public health system is facing, workers volunteered to roll over their current workplace agreement, keeping the status quo so that everyone can focus on delivering services and keeping the community safe. Lucas and the Liberal Government have refused to roll over the current agreement in favour of attacking workers current conditions. Full media release: https://bit.ly/SAHealthCareWorkers

14.01.2022 Thanks so much for the support Connie!

12.01.2022 SA Health workers don't forget to RSVP to tomorrow's online union meetings, kicking off at 7am and running all the way through to 10pm! You can RSVP here to access the meeting details: https://forms.gle/vtmhFt2KosQvWkD5A

11.01.2022 Today delegates from across the Public Sector met with Peter Malinauskas, State Labor Opposition Leader and Chris Picton, Opposition Health Spokesman to discuss your campaign seeking a rollover of your EBA in the current health emergency. Both Peter and Chris committed to supporting the campaign and were grateful to hear firsthand the stories from workers working on the frontline.

10.01.2022 Thanks Blair Boyer MP!

09.01.2022 This is Karon, United Workers Union Delegate at St Margaret's Hospital. When asked why seeking a rollover agreement in the current COVID-19 climate was so important, this is what she had to say:

09.01.2022 This is Sheryl, United Workers Union Delegate in Port Lincoln. She works as in home support, ensuring older people are able to remain living independently in their homes.
