21.01.2022 The University of South Australia Contemporary Art Graduate Exhibition is on its way! Though the last few weeks of change in South Australia have thrown our plans into disarray, we're excited to announce BLOOM will be presented as a virtual exhibition. The exhibition features final year student work from the Bachelor of Contemporary Art, the Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours), and the Master of Design (Contemporary Art). After a year of trials and challenges and new perspe...ctives, BLOOM presents new approaches to thinking and making, documenting the creative journey of over 50 emerging artists. The virtual exhibition will be available for online viewing from December 10. Stay tuned for more information, and a link to explore the show. 19.01.2022 The SASA Gallery is reopening! We're so excited to welcome you back through the doors, and we've got a very special exhibition lined up to mark the occasion. A quarter turn around the sun is a showcase of student work from the Bachelor of Contemporary Art, featuring work across disciplines and experience levels made in isolation. The works explore themes of transmission, transience and absence, teasing out the social and environmental implications of a new topography. Presen...ted as part of SALA Festival, this exhibition will run from July 27 - August 21. Please note that during this period, we'll be open Monday - Wednesday by appointment only, and Thursday and Friday 11-4. If you're planning on attending with a large group, we ask that you please advise us in advance so that we can maintain effective social distancing protocols. We're looking forward to seeing you again soon. #UniSACreative #SASAGallery #SALAFestival

18.01.2022 The long-awaited 2020 University of South Australia Contemporary Art Graduate Exhibition is here! BLOOM features the work of graduating students from the Bachelor of Contemporary Art, the Graduate Diploma of Design (Contemporary Art), the Master of Design (Contemporary Art) and the Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours). This exhibition brings together final year art students to celebrate the achievement, vision and advanced creative skills of UniSA's new generation of emerging... artists. This year's exhibition looks a little different. Instead of wandering the halls of our studios in person, we invite you to immerse yourself in the work of our newest generation of emerging artists from the comfort of your own home. Head to the homepage to access the virtual tour of our exhibition spaces, download the exhibition catalogue, or watch the live launch. A huge thankyou to everyone who has contributed to BLOOM's success, and in particular to Helpmann Academy, praxis ARTSPACE, USASA UniSA Student Association and City Of Charles Sturt for their ongoing support. #UniSA #UniSACreative #icreate #visualart #contemporaryart

04.01.2022 In case you missed it! A quarter turn around the sun is a showcase of new student artwork from UniSA’s Bachelor of Contemporary Art program. Sculptural, video, photography and ceramic works explore themes of transmission, transience, and absence, teasing out the social and environmental implications of a new topography. During a strange and unprecedented period of learning, characterised by moral uncertainty, a reliance on new technology, and isolation in all its forms, stude...nts stepped outside of their institutional boundaries and explored new ways of making and creating. These new and intriguing works by a suite of South Australia’s emerging artists are the culmination of a three month period of isolation. They posit alternative ways of living and connecting with the landscape around us, and with each other. Featuring: Crista Bradshaw, Frances Cohen, Stephanie Doddridge, Amie Fisher, Donna Gordge, Alice Hu, Cameron Longshaw, Stephanie Montatore, Callum Muzyka, Emma Perry, Bianca Pibworth, Talisha Sales, Isabelle Selfe, Miriam Sims, Jessica Stephens, Lucinda Zola Photos by Cameron Longshaw.
