23.01.2022 Our Family Fun Day kicked off with a welcoming address from the President, after which Aidan lead the players through a fun group warm up. Four rounds of tennis followed, where twists to the rules proved both challenging and amusing! A few Lolly based activities were thrown in the mix, before a BBQ completed the day. Congratulations to our various competition winners! And Thanks again to everyone who came and supported this Sweet Club event! #southbendigotennisclub #sbtcfamilyfunday

22.01.2022 Let’s get to know South Bendigo! Meet Brandt and Aidan! These two lead the GIANT Tennis coaching team and are essentially responsible for shaping the future of our club! (No pressure guys!!) Thankfully they’re actually quite good at what they do! The GIANT team delivers a professional (yet fun!) coaching program catering to all ages and abilities, and are at the courts pretty much every day of the week.... Beyond the coaching court, Brandt & Aidan like to show off their big serves in the local BTA Senior pennant comp. They’ll each be leading a South Bendigo team in the upcoming Premier League season. Aidan’s the reigning Premiership holder, whereas Brandt claimed his first Premier League title for South Bendigo 21 years ago! If they’re not on a tennis court, they’re juggling their young families and trying to squeeze in a round of golf! #southbendigotennisclub #gettoknowsouthbendigo #gianttennis

20.01.2022 Today our club took another exciting step in the pursuit of creating a comprehensive competition-pathway for our players. This season South Bendigo will be fielding a senior team in the Goulburn Murray Division 1 competition, a high-caliber home and away series, played on grass courts, from Shepparton to Echuca, Rich River and now Bendigo! It’s a great opportunity to extend and challenge our top players, and give our Juniors something to aspire to. Today we were represented by Aidan, Brett, Jason, Chelsea and Bella, in Round 1, against the Shepparton Lakers on Shepparton’s lush lawn courts. This 12-Round Season will no doubt be a great experience for all involved. #southbendigotennisclub

16.01.2022 Huge Thank you to every who joined us yesterday for an awesome afternoon of tennis, fun and games! Our (almost) annual Family Tournament stepped it up a notch this year... with the BTA generously offering the use of the Fosterville Gold Tennis Centre, we were able to cater to an outstanding 32 parent/child doubles combinations + support crews. It’s pleasing to be able to run events like this for our members and we appreciate the support. 11.01.2022 Today saw our first home game for Round 2 of the Goulburn Murray competition, hosting Echuca Lawn at the Bendigo grass courts. In a league that requires matches be played on grass (either synthetic or natural) we’re thankful to the BTA for allowing us to use this venue. Our ‘more senior’ team members scraped through with singles wins today, but it wasn’t quite enough to get us over the line. An enjoyable afternoon of tennis, nonetheless. #southbendigotennisclub

08.01.2022 For those wondering, Party Mix came out on top over the Licorice Allsorts today in the South Bendigo A-Grade showdown. Lead by last year’s premiership players, Aidan Fitzgerald, Zac Harris and Jayd Davis, it ended up being a convincing Party Mix win, 5 rubbers to 1. Special mention to youngsters Bella Marchant, Jacob Page and Bailey Willcocks on stepping up to A Grade this season and competing well today! #southbendigotennisclub #southbendigopartymix

06.01.2022 Well done by our C-Grade Juniors this morning, kicking off their season after last week’s wash out. We’ve got five teams in this section and today was the first time playing competition for a lot of these youngsters. There was understandably a mix of emotions (parents included!) but it was a very positive start with lots of great rallies and encouraging sportsmanship. There’s lots to be learned over the coming weeks and we’re excited to see development in our players throughout the season... #southbendigotennisclub #bendigotennis

This award is presented annually to recognise the junior boy and girl who has best contributed to competition play, actively participated in club events and exhibited good sportsmanship. Congratulations to Mikayla Hill and Machlan Kelly!! Unfortunately we’ve missed out on holding a Club Presentation Day this year, so please join us in congratulating these two with a big virtual round of applause!

Crafty with both a tennis and badminton racquet, Bob has been attending and facilitating regular social tennis at the club for well over 40 years! In fact his loyalty and dedication earned him a place on the coveted list of Life Members, back in 2013. It’s changed over the years, but Thursday evening at 7.30pm is the current Social Tennis time slot.
