23.01.2022 A Grade debuted our new 2020/21 uniform today. They looked great and were looking good with the bat too until rain forced the match to be abandoned.

19.01.2022 RESULTS Firstly welcome back to the Club Laurie Peters and Brock Stenfors and also welcome to Brett Stenfors on his first game A grade had a disappointing loss in which seen a batting collapse for just 18! In a mixture of events such as an unpredictable pitch and Maalste from Central having an absolute belter, the boys were skittled quickly. Central chasing only lost one wicket in reply.... Best on the day was Evan Ferguson. The boys in good spirits then headed over to B grade match, in what would turn out to be a great day of fun, laughs and beers. The B grade boys batted well, making 87 in total with Laurie Peters 19, Brett Stenfors 15 and Mitch Engstrom 14. With not one player scoring a (A grade there were 8) West chased the total down in 13 overs with the loss of three wickets. Jay Varatharajan was the best of the bowlers 1/16 off his 3 overs. Special mention to Rebeca Wall and Ronald Tumes who were exceptional in the field!! Woman’s report by Heidi The ladies had their second match of the season on Friday night racing last years premiers West. We won the toss and elected to bat (a decision that would turn out to not go well for any team over the weekend ). Our stand-out batter was Jo who scored 10 runs off her 3 overs. Meg Ryan, one of our new Irish recruits scored a handy 6 - not bad for someone who has never played cricket before! After runs deducted for the 7 wickets lost we posted a total of 24. West innings was turbo-charged by an impressive 29 from Louise Schofield, the only West player to make double digits. Top bowling figures went to Lakisha with a wicket and only 4 runs off her three overs giving a negative total to West’s score. Very impressive! West combined total minus the three wickets taken was 67. Another honourable loss for the women’s team with improved skills shown with bat and ball and new players showing lots of promise! Welcome to Meg & Tess, hopefully they bring some luck of the Irish with them, looking forward to some good craic with them this season!

17.01.2022 RESULTS Mixed results today as the boys got bowled out pretty cheaply in the first T20 then came back and chased down 120 in the second. Game 1 ... South 9/80 def by North 6/81 Gillespie 32 Reavill 15 D.Gray 4/16 off 2.4 overs Game 2 Central 6/120 def by South 6/123 Gillespie 47 Reavill 32 Philp 21 Franklyn 3/16 Game 1 Bernels player of the round D.Gray Game 2 Bernels player of the round R.Gillespie Congrats to Mitch Engstrom who bagged his first scalp for the club and Zivai Zing'anga for his first game in the red and white!! Tomorrow sees the boys take on the Warriors in game 3 at the Zinc oval 12:30!

14.01.2022 RESULTS Good to have some A grade cricket being played today and the boys pushed a full strength West side but realistically needed a few more runs on the board. South 9/132 36 overs... Reavill 77 Lihou 19 Def by West 5/133 after 33.2 overs M.Attard 50 Gillespie 1/22 Paull 1/30 Shout to Mitch Engstrom and Matt Gray who put their bodies on the line in the field, and also Ryan Gillespie for a sensational run out. A great team effort today and the boys can hold their heads high after a disastrous start with the bat, 3/17, they fought hard to get a competitive total. Thank you again Michael Bird for your efforts having the footy club ready with a few cold refreshments. B grade results will be added when I get them.

07.01.2022 The club would like to wish Zivai Zing'anga all the best in his future endeavours as he accepted a transferred to be closer with his family over on the East Coast. The Club will miss his talent, but not as much as we will miss his vibrant attitude and his ability to keep the boys laughing! All the best Zinga!!
