25.01.2022 Live Sabbath Church Service 7 November https://youtu.be/KKWXvjdEzOs

25.01.2022 Dear SCAC family Update regarding Big Camp 2021 The South NSW Conference Board met on Sunday 27th September and one of the agenda items was Big Camp 2021. After considering the current restrictions around gatherings and for places of worship, and the unlikely easing of those restrictions soon, it was deemed too uncertain to continue planning for Big Camp to be held in January 2021.... As an alternative, the Board proposed to conduct Big Camp at Easter 2021. For planning purposes, the dates for Easter Big Camp will be Thursday evening 1st April and conclude on Sunday evening 4th April 2021. Further details will be provided as they become available. If you have any questions please do contact myself and I will do my best to assist you. Blessings Pastor Andrew

16.01.2022 Dear all Just a very quick message to all SCAC community and friends. As we are in School Holidays and many of our community are down on the coast or out of the ACT, and with many of our ladies joining the Online women’s Retreat tonight that's coming live from Sydney, we will not be hosting online zoom vespers tonight.... We will be back online next Wednesday for Prayer meeting and next Friday for Vespers. Some of you may have seen the news today that the ACT Government will be lifting further restrictions next Friday. We are still unsure of exactly what this looks like but it is looking promising in terms of a number increase in how many can worship in our church. The church Leadership Team will keep you informed and up to date with church openings and what we can and can’t do during this pandemic. I will be meeting with the Elders Monday 12 October and with the church Board on Tuesday 13 October to implement plans for church reopening. The weekend looks to be great weather wise. Lots of sunshine and high temperatures. Enjoy the sun and remember to Slip! Slop! and Slap this weekend. Blessings Pastor Andrew

10.01.2022 Dear SCAC family I would like to bring to your attention a brand new ministry that we are looking to create at SCAC. What is it?... A brand new Pathfinder club Don’t we already have one? Yes and no. Currently we run an Adventurer club at SCAC/CCS. Once our club members Graduate they enrol at the Canberra National Pathfinder club. So why does SCAC need a club? The Canberra National club is a fantastic club. There is no reason other than the following to start our own; Grow Pathfinders South side of the city Link for SCAC/CCS to engage community in Mawson and surrounding areas A continuation for non-Adventist CCS Student’s who attend Adventurers at SCAC Mission and Outreach Continuation for 25 non Adventist kids who attend current outreach programs who trust the School and SCAC. To compliment and add to the Intergenerational Church Service 11:15am Sabbath Church When are we looking to start? February 2021 9 weeks’ time What happens between now and February? We are asking for all parents with kids in both Adventurers and Pathfinder age to engage with us as we plan this brand new club. We will need to organise leaders, assistants, helpers and anyone (You Do not have to have children or Grandchildren) who wishes to help and be part of this new club. So, what do I do now? Respond ASAP if you are interested in your children/Grandchildren joining the new club. Also respond to this email if you just wish to be part of a team that runs the club. First planning discussion? Date & Time 7:30pm Tuesday 1st December Location: Zoom I.D for Zoom: 521 601 8578 Meeting Facilitators: Pastor Rick Hergenhan; Pastor Andrew Layland; Bree Hills If you have any questions, ideas or just want to know more, please contact either; Pastor Rick Hergenhan [email protected] Pastor Andrew Layland [email protected] Bree Hills [email protected] Blessings SCAC Leadership Team

09.01.2022 Happy Sabbath SCAC Family Just some updates from the SCAC Leadership Team This weekend updates;... Friday Night church 7:00pm No need to pre Book. Just show up on the door for worship and fellowship Sabbath 9am Divine Worship Speaker Pr. Andrew Layland. This service is now fully booked. If you have sent a request for a seat then I can confirm you have been booked in. We look forward to seeing you at 9am. Please do try to arrive a little before the service starts as this helps with our Live Streaming and entering contact tracing details. Intergenerational Church 11:30am No need to pre-book. Just show up on the door for worship. Church Walk 3:00pm Open for entire church family and friends Because of the heat this coming Sabbath we want to do something a little different and head up to the mountains. Meet us at the carpark at Corin dam at 3pm for some exploring and hopefully see the water flow over the spillway then we'll head up to Corin forest resort and have a time a fellowship together under the snow gums. So bring a chair or picnic mat to sit on. On the home we will stop at Gilbralta falls. There is no phone reception. The sun will still be hot so bring a hat and water FYI The ACT Government yesterday announced that all venues in the ACT starting from 2 December can now operate on Stage 4 recovery plan. This means that from Next Sabbath 5 December We can change from 1 person per 4 square meters to 1 person per 2 square meters. This change is welcomed and will mean we can increase our church service capacity from 56 people to 112 people for next Sabbath. New rules increase capacity by the following; Main Church 56 people to 112 people Library 20 people to 40 people School Hall 25 people to 50 people Classrooms 12 people to 24 per classroom The Leadership team will meet soon to discuss whether or not we need to continue with a prebooking system or operate a show up on the day approach. We will be in contact shortly. A reminder to all families regarding Pathfinders. Please contact Bree Hills, Pr Rick or Pr Andrew if you wish your child to be part of this ministry.
