20.01.2022 Today was certainly a Happy Friday as we watched one of our owners, Kareem Drayton from Envision Basketball being interviewed on ticker Sport this morning, after a rough few months following the restrictions which resulted in a sudden closure for all basketball (and all other sports) due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ticker Sport brings you the boldest opinions in the world of sport, hosted by David Davutovic and Adrian Franklin. Watch the full interview at: https://tickertv.com.au/programs/collection-0n0kwsijdrg
20.01.2022 Hey everyone, Here is an update from Basketball Victoria. http://basketballvictoria.com.au/covid-19
19.01.2022 Check it out! Fingers and toes are crossed! The Victorian Government has made the following changes impacting basketball and the return to community sport regarding coronavirus (COVID-19).... From 11:59pm on 31 May the following changes will come into effect: Non-contact outdoor sporting activities (e.g. basketball training sessions) will increase to 20 people plus the instructor (previously 10 people plus the instructor) as per the previously distributed Outdoor Training Guidelines. From 11:59pm on 21 June and in line with the most up-to-date advice of the Chief Health Officer the following changes will be made: Indoor sports centres and physical recreation venues, including gyms, to open with up to 20 people per single undivided indoor space and up to 10 people per group/activity at any one time. Basketball Victoria are currently working through what these changes will mean for basketball with Sport and Recreation Victoria, while working through their Return to Sport Guidelines and will have further updates on these changed conditions as soon as available. You can read the full update from the Victorian Government at: https://www.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-restrictions-vi. Source: https://dandenongbasketball.com.au/covid-19-update-changes-

19.01.2022 Congratulations to all of our boys for an amazing Round 1. Let's keep it going!
18.01.2022 Our Under 14s team is coming together very nicely! Although we’re missing one of our boys due to injury, the rest of the boys did exceptionally well and got the 26-11 win on Saturday, led by Coach Tika. Yes, we still have a lot of work to do, but so far, you’ve all done an excellent job. Well done! ... Let’s go South East Huskies
18.01.2022 As you may already know, we are forming various teams to compete domestically (ages 8 - 18) within the Casey Basketball Association and Dandenong Basketball Association. So let's get straight to it! For both girls and boys Under 16's and Under 18's, there will be Tryouts held tomorrow, Wednesday 26 February at 7:00pm at Fountain Gate Primary School (Prospect Hill Rd, Narre Warren).... For all inquiries, please email us at [email protected]
17.01.2022 During this lockdown period, it is important NOT to lose focus nor get lazy or complacent. This COVID-19 situation is a minor set back and we need to stay strong mentally and physically. Let's use this time to hit the school books, catch up of things and put in the extra work so that we are smarter and stronger on the court, when it is game time.... There is ZERO time to be wasted, so let's get straight to it! Lets try to strengthen our hands by doing this ball handling drill with a 6 lb med ball and a 3 lb SKLZ heavy ball as performed by Kareem Drayton from Envision Basketball. So toss and snatch the 6 lb med ball while performing a pound + thru with the 3 lb heavy ball. Make sure to catch the med ball in a downward motion. Give it a try! If you dont have the heavy ball and med ball, we encourage you to come up with your own version. Lets get creative and lets challenge ourselves on a daily basis.

13.01.2022 Hello everyone, Hope you are all doing well and keeping safe and healthy. As you may have heard the announcement from Daniel Andrews and the Victorian government over the weekend that the roadmap for reopening has begun. ... As for indoor sports, the reopening of sports facilities for training or any sporting events will not commence until the 1st of November. There is a possibility this roadmap will be moved up to this Sunday as the Premier stated, but that is under the discretion of how this week's covid case numbers go. It is starting to look positive for us to get back to basketball based on the Victorian government easing restrictions, however, it is still under the discretion of the training facilities and schools to return to hiring out their courts to third parties. Yes we are all excited about the news we've just heard yesterday, but please bear with us as we work together with the schools and centers on when and how we can resume classes. There are several protocols that we, the schools and centres have to put in place (eg. COVIDSafe Plan) that require some time to officially return. We at Envision Basketball (including the South East Huskies team) are very excited to see you all again and start training. Please stay tuned for more news from us and also keep an eye out from updates from Basketball Victoria and Dandenong Basketball. We hope to hear some more great news soon. Best regards, Kareem Drayton CEO/Founder of Envision Basketball South East Huskies Team
13.01.2022 Today is Q&A Fridays at Envision Basketball, so please ask as many questions as you'd like and Kareem Drayton will choose the best 5 questions to answer. Questions can be ANYTHING relating to basketball, technique (footwork, shooting, ball handling, IQ, offense/defense etc), fitness, nutrition, performance coaching.... so ask away!! Let's go HUSKIES!!
12.01.2022 Hey guys, We hope that you have all been keeping well and safe during this devastating time (for all of us). As you know, the 'possible' season is again on hold due to the current restrictions as a result of the spikes in covid cases in Victoria. This means we can no longer train or play outdoors, let alone do anything basketball related indoors. So unfortunately, everything is back on hold until further notice.... We have spoken to Dandenong Basketball Association today, who have advised us that they have a tentative plan of starting the Summer Season (depending on the current covid situation in Victoria) in October (so fingers crossed). In the meantime, we encourage you to exercise and use this time to work on your fitness, skills and mindset as best as you can. We want to be able to get back into training (whenever permitted to start) and ease back into the game as if no time had past. We want to stay strong, skillful and fast so that we can stay ahead of our competition! We are thinking of resuming skills/fitness training online once a week, so please respond to this email if you would be interested in doing this? We will only proceed with this idea if the majority is interested. If any player would like to talk to us, we are here! We can do face-to-face calls via ZOOM, WhatsApp or FaceTime (on Apple products such as iPhone, iPad etc).
11.01.2022 As COVID-19 restrictions are being slowly lifted by the Victorian Government, we are pleased that there is a clearer roadmap to return to play. While this is exciting, we need to remain patient and allow associations and clubs the time to prepare as best they can to ensure the health and safety of our community is maintained, while aiming to get participants back on the court. Please see below the following update for the return of community basketball. Basketball Victoria ha...s put forward a position to Sport and Recreation Victoria and the Department of Health and Human Services, that our understanding and application of the Victorian Government return to sport announcement from Sunday June 14, allows for basketball to move to an Orange-50 indoor competition/training reactivation status from June 22 (as per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines) for players 18 years and under. 11.01.2022 Hey guys, As we await some news for a possible start date for competitive basketball, we are unfortunately facing another issue (like several other clubs/teams) which is court availability. We are all eager to get back to it, but please remain patient as we are doing all that we can to start back up ASAP. 01.01.2022 For those of us in Australia, today is Anzac Day! Although we are still social distancing and at home, we would love to encourage you to honour those who bravely made the ultimate sacrifice for all Australians. Lets unite with that Anzac spirit and pay our respect and remember the 102,000+ Australians who lost their lives in war and in operations. ... Join us and think beyond the way in which they died, and consider more broadly the way in which they LIVED!! We also want to honour all of those who have served our country and dedicated their lives in the service of others; facing fear and uncertainty and sacrificing comfort and convenience to make a difference. Lest we forget.
