Research has shown when l...ivestock have good available shelter it can substantially improve their performance (eg. up to 17% increase in milk production in dairy cows and 31% increase in wool growth & 21% increase in live weight gains in sheep). 10.01.2022 Illawarra and Shoalhaven Landcare are hosting a half-day information forum on weed and pest biological control agents. Interested landholders and people in Landcare and Bushcare groups are invited. The forum will update attendees on the latest information on the availability and effectiveness of biocontrol agents that are currently or potentially available in this region. Presenters will include CSIRO, LLS, Shoalhaven Council, Illawarra District Weeds Authority, as well as involved landowners.

04.01.2022 Yesterday Upper Shoalhaven Landcare run a traditional cool burn workshop led by Ngunawal elder, Wally Bell at Millpost Farm. As the name suggests, cool burns ar...e a low intensity burn that are designed to move quickly through the undergrowth without damaging plant roots or the earth, which helps native plants regenerate. A big thank you to Wally for sharing his knowledge and wisdom yesterday and welcoming us to country. This event was supported by funding from South East Landcare support project. See more
