22.01.2022 A rather intersting way to build model aircraft now. With the rising costs of balsa, there are alternative ways to build. This hybrid is a fine example - foam, balsa and spruce. The possibilities are endless!

22.01.2022 Are you enjoying your last few days of Australian Springtime? It’s heating up, and we’re sure you’re planning on spending more time outdoors. Just be sure to ke...ep a 30 metre distance from other people when flying your drone, and don’t fly higher than 120 metres (400 feet). Visit www.knowyourdrone.gov.au to review the drone rules.

20.01.2022 Friday morning at FGF saw a few members in attendance and enjoying the calm sunny conditions. We even saw Paul’s Tiger moth out and about. A quick flight or two with the new Hurricane before work was nice way to start the day as well (for those of us who still work.)

17.01.2022 From 1am on Thursday, October 1, we’re increasing the number of people who can gather at venues and events, as long as it’s outdoors. It means businesses l...ike outdoor dining, beer gardens, theme parks and zoos, can increase the number of patrons outdoors from one per 4 square metres to one per 2 square metres. The maximum number of attendees permitted at events with a COVID Safe Checklist will increase from 500 to 1,000 per day. Seated capacity at outdoor stadiums, amphitheatres and outdoor performance venues with a COVID Safe Plan can increase from up to 50% to up to 75%. More information is suggesting that outdoor gatherings are safer. But it is still important that Queenslanders remain vigilant. Stay 1.5 metres away from other peoplethink two big steps Wash your hands lots with soap and water, or hand sanitizer Sneeze or cough into your arm or a tissue. Then put the tissue in the bin.

16.01.2022 Weather has stopped us from flying for a week or so,the grass is nice and green but water soaked, hopefully will get the mower onto the strip at end of week ready for this weekend if weather is fine.

13.01.2022 The Greater Brisbane region will transition to eased restrictions at 6pm today, following a weekend lockdown enacted to contain any potential spread of the UK v...ariant of COVID-19. The restrictions are similar to Stage 3 restrictions Queensland saw in July last year and will be in place at least until 1am 22 January. You will be allowed to leave your home for any purpose. The following gathering restrictions are in place to keep you and others safe: You must carry a mask at all times. Masks must be worn in indoor places including shopping centres and supermarkets, gyms, places of worship, libraries, public transport, and taxis and rideshare vehicles. Masks must be worn in workplaces if social distancing isn’t possible and it’s safe to do so. You don’t need to wear a mask in private vehicles, while outdoors at a safe distance from other people or if you’re doing strenuous exercise. Businesses and venues can have one person per 4m indoors and one person per 2m outdoors. Smaller venues up to 200m can have one person per 2m up to a maximum of 50. You must be seated to eat and drink, and no dancing is allowed except at weddings. Gatherings are restricted to 20 people in homes and public spaces. Weddings and funerals can have up to 100 people, and dancing is allowed at weddings without restrictions. Indoor concert venues and theatres can operate at 50% capacity or one person per four square metres, whichever is greater. Outdoor stadiums can operate at 50% capacity with COVID-safe plans. Restrictions on visits to hospitals, aged care, disability accommodation and prisons will remain. Visit here for more information https://www.qld.gov.au//easing-greater-brisbane-restrictio Over the past 72 hours, people in the Greater Brisbane area have followed lockdown and movement advice strongly. It is because of such a strong response from the community that we are able to ease these restrictions, but we aren't out of the woods yet. Thank you all for coming together - as you have before - and playing your part. Let's keep up the amazing work. Remember to always: Practise good hygiene Socially distance Exercise common sense Stay at home when unwell

06.01.2022 We have an OCD member who has made a really fantastic stainless steel windsock support to stop the sock from tangling around the pole. He hates the birds sitting on it and messing it up so he left lots of cable ties around to discourage them from perching up there. Clearly it worked
