25.01.2022 "Following SEQBCs successful Inaugural Marathon held last weekend at Woodgate I was pleased to present Woodgate Club Treasurer, Pauline Nicolson with a trophy in appreciation of the club's generous support of the event. Members were overwhelmed by Woodgate Club's efforts to ensure that our inaugural event was a success. Our congratulations go to all staff members, including Club Manager, Anne, Bruce, the chefs, kitchen and wait staff and bar staff for their efforts. The...ir dedication to their positions in the Woodgate Club is greatly appreciated and a testament to Woodgate Club's committee members. I hope that Woodgate Club has benefited from hosting our dinner. Marathon competitors and partners have nothing but positive comments for the Woodgate Club. SEQBC looks forward to hosting another successful marathon in 2021".

22.01.2022 ZIP Landsailing (ZLS) was proud to award trophies - an Encouragement Award and Most Improved Sailor Award to two sailors competing at the 2019 Australian Open... Blokart Championships which were hosted by the Capricornia Blokart Club Inc. The Encouragement Award was presented to the sailor who ZLS believes is always out there having a go, improving his/her sailing skill and enjoying the sport. Kem Everett was clearly the winner of this award at this event. The Most Improved Sailor Award speaks for itself. The sailor who ZLS felt had the most improved results over the duration of the regatta. The recipient of the Most Improved Sailor is Jenny Clare. Both of these trophies were awarded to sailors in the Production Class. Congratulations to Kem and Jenny for their contribution to the regatta.

15.01.2022 Thanks to the committee and everyone else involved for organising the marathon at the weekend at Woodgate. Everything ran smoothly from a competitor perspective and the trophies are amazing - Judy and Bernard

14.01.2022 Club members, Mick Ralph and Ross Webster competed in the 2020 Australian Open Blokart Championships which was hosted by the Victorian Blokart Club at its track at Casey Fields in Cranbourne East. Ross and Mick congratulate club President, Pete Walsh and his team of volunteers of track and race officials and the ladies who provided fresh lunches for all every day. Their hard work ensured the event ran smoothly . As usual, competitors enjoyed good wind conditions during Frid...ays practice day but the winds fluctuated and varied over the 4 days of competition and it was pot luck if you picked the wind shifts. Unfortunately, due to mobility issues, Mick was unable to finish 1 race and didnt compete in the next, but he was right up there and did well in the races he contested. Despite the lack of consistent wind everyone had a good time, made new friends and enjoyed the camaraderie and sportsmanship of fellow competitors. It was a great Championships event with club member, Ross Webster retaining his Performance Superheavy weight 1st place. A few photos of the competition below, more on ZIP Landsailings fbook page. 12.01.2022 Fantastic weekend on the beach at Shark Bay, Illuka. NSW. Warm weather, onshore North Easterlies and wicked speeds along this delightful beach. The whole event was to meet the blokarters from the general Grafton area, who had repeatedly told us about "this beach..." Everyone got to sail and the majority of sailors were newcomers, so lots of thrills and maybe one capsize! The Blokart grin was everywhere you looked. Thanks to Sara Princess Panda for the pics. Thanks to PaulShona Bain for setting the weekend up. And special thanks to all the couples from Sailability, Gold Coast who went a fair hike down the highway on the off chance they might get to sail Blokarts. Little did they know...

04.01.2022 Blokart World Championships 2020 - UPDATE Regretfully, we have taken the decision today to postpone the 2020 Blokart World championships until next year. While ...October still seems a long way off the following factors have contributed to our decision; Earlier this week the Royal NZ Airforce informed us that the Airforce Base at Ohakea has been closed to visitors, particularly those from overseas and is now unlikely to be available again by October. The older age-demographic of our sport and associated high risk factors for participants. Even if it were safe to go ahead, it is expected that many competitors will be financially stressed, and delaying a year will allow a greater chance for recovery and will help ensure the best participation possible We want to avoid taking entry fees and committing money on an event where there is strong chance that event will need to be cancelled or scaled back. We are mindful of the impact on people of delaying this decision too long, and hope that this now provides time to replan your year accordingly Our current plan is to reschedule the event for 18th to 26th October 2021. It is expected that dates will be 100% confirmed and NOR reissued by end of November 2020. Stay safe, and keep sailing (where you can)

03.01.2022 Hey club members. Open Air Cinema commences next week so this weekend is the last one for a month or so. Hope to see you there! I will be there Sunday - hopefully I still remember how to put my kart together! Cheers, Lena

02.01.2022 Is anyone going to Iluka for blokarting next weekend? We have been invited down to stay at Rverside Holiday Park. Low tide on Saturday at 1:30pm.

02.01.2022 Club members Paul, Shona, Ross, Judi, Len, Leanne and Brent spent last weekend at Woodgate at our end of year Christmas break-up blokarting on the beautiful beach with Capricornia Blokart Club members Richard, Di, Margo, Kevin, Danny, Jenny, John and his lovely wife. Everyone enjoyed the camaraderie and afternoon drinks on the deck at NRMA Woodgate Beach Holiday Park as well as the dinners at the hotel and bowls club. Members are looking forward to our next trip to this beautiful part of Queensland.

02.01.2022 When do we lose the track?

01.01.2022 Its been dubbed CROCGATE Woodgate residents were stunned when crocodile warning signs were briefly erected despite no known sightings.
