23.01.2022 Tried to do the John Holland Way. The brochure looked great, the start at Broomhill was great, but the wheels fell off at the Nyabing- Katanning Road and went downhill from there. Until they get more signage for directions, don't even bother. We were home by 6pm- mega peeved. The Holland Track from Hyden is great, but as we have done it three times, thought we would start at the beginning. Wrong! Surely there would have been more wells/water holes than advertised? Very disappointed to say the least.
18.01.2022 it rained all the time we were at Hopetoun, but we still loved it.!!!
13.01.2022 NUKARNI COUNTRY MUSTER On Saturday night 3rd Sept we were privileged to attend the Nukarni Country Muster at Dale Farms. Our hosts were Tom and Olga Kittyea, who have worked tirelessly over the past 13 years to make this wonderful event happen. 04.01.2022 We did go to Hopetoun, and for the first time I can remember, the weather was as predicted - wild, wooly and wet. Not just in Hopetoun, but everywhere - we looked at the map of WA and not a town, according to the experts, in the south of WA was going to be rain free. So be it!!!! We were rained on from 2am Saturday to 10am Sunday when we finally left the coast. All was not lost - we had a vanilla slice to die for in Hyden, met a friend from Pingrup days, Ian Parker, his son and a Canadian visitor, took a photo of the Royal Hakea sculpting at the Ravensthorpe Police Station, reminisced about the shearing days of dads team around Lake King, Lake Varley, Lake Grace, and loved every minute of the drenching we got.
03.01.2022 In the bush near Mungari Station. The bush flies are woeful, the moscato is going down a treat, our camper went up without one swear word we went down a track from Boorabbin and found a little bush shack that we visited 15 years ago and the white ants have decimated it. I also found a waterhole. Loving the quiet and the smell of the bush.
