25.01.2022 Cid from Global Worming spoke to our classes on Tuesday morning. Some of the comments from Guginya following their visit to our work farm were: "I learnt that works cuddle up together so they don't get light". "I found it interesting that worms have 5 hearts". "If you squeeze worm eggs, the babies inside will die. There are 2 or 3 baby worms inside the egg". Did you know there are approximately 100,000 worms in our worm farm!!

08.01.2022 Outdoor Learning Day - a day on Country. We're about to get started!

07.01.2022 We started the day by tuning in with children. Teachers read a book with their children, highlighting concepts such as collaboration, kindness, communication and connection to Country. At the end of the day all children reflected with their class and shared ways they connected, collaborated and communicated during Outdoor Learning Day. A big thanks to the staff team for their efforts in putting together such an incredible day for the children.

04.01.2022 Today we officially opened our Slide Mountain. Thank you Lyndall for returning to Southern Cross for this special day. We have had a wonderful day learning and playing on Country.

03.01.2022 In keeping with the 2020 Book Week theme of ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’, we will be holding a Reading in the Wild Competition. The Southern Cross community is invited to send in images of children and their families reading in outdoor locations - or any other wild and curious places you can come up with! Each entrant will receive a ticket in the lucky draw to win a $20 Scholastic Book Club voucher. Entries can be emailed to [email protected] and must be received by 9am Thursday 22 October.

01.01.2022 Guginya and Wamburrang Preschool groups started our Book Week with a colourful parade around school! We saw some amazing costumes and most importantly children sharing their favourite books or well loved stories. We're looking forward to seeing everyone else's costumes and books on Thursday.
