24.01.2022 With the new Southern Cross Next Gen. well underway, Brett thought it was time to visit Adelaide to check the build progress, and he is not disappointed. Now Bob and Brett are planning their first practice and which race they will debut at the new design at. We all can't wait to see the new buggy on the track.

23.01.2022 It's official, Brett in his Southern Cross MK V has won the Marsue Transport Bencubbin 360!!!!! First outright, doesn't get any better than that. Brett had an almost dream run this weekend only losing time on the last lap with a flat front tyre, but that didn't slow him down.

16.01.2022 A sad day in the workshop this weekend as Bob's Southern Cross MK 6 gets picked up and taken to its new home in Warnambool, VIC, but not all is bad as now there is even more room for new projects ;) Exciting times ahead.........

After Brett starting the race strong, unfortunately he had a roll over and eventually had to pull out of the event due to steering issues with only 1 lap to go. 03.01.2022 A fantastic result for Southern Cross Racing starting with the debut of the new Southern Cross Next Gen at Sea Lake. Brett drove with Dad along side of him and finished the event in a extremely impressive 10th outright and 4th in class. Not bad for the buggy's first race!! Out of the 7 Southern Cross buggies at Sea Lake, 3 finished with Brett Smith 10th, Alistair McClelland 22nd and Geoff Lampard 36th out of a field of over 100. Also over the weekend 4 Southern Cross Racing buggies competed at the Finke Desert Race with 2 finishers of Nathan Monk in 41st and Alex Heinzel in 48, also with a field of over 100 competitors. Southern Cross Racing couldn't be happier with all the results, well done everyone!!

03.01.2022 Back to where Brett debuted the Southern Cross Next Gen, Sea Lake Malley Rally. Saturday Brett prologued in 14th place on a wet and slippery track. The race proper was a wet and slippery start but the track started to dry up and Brett bought the car home to finish in a amazing 4th OUTRIGHT and 2nd in class.
