25.01.2022 Please be advised that SACA have confirmed that the Men’s 1st Grade fixtures for Round 4 - Southern District CC vs Northerns District CC and Round 5 - Southern District CC vs Glenelg District CC will be 50 over matches and played under One Day Cup conditions. As previously mentioned the results do not count for the One Day Cup Competition.

24.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION The Premier has confirmed that all sporting clubs are to utilise a QR Code system to support Contact Tracing. Anybody attending Bice Oval (both outdoors and indoors) for training and matches must check in using the mySA GOV application to scan the QR code. Alongside the QR Code is a hard copy check-in for those individuals without a mobile phone.... The QR Code and Hard Copy Form are displayed on the wall outside the Club House in Rito’s Retreat. Thank you for your co-operation.

20.01.2022 WELCOME SIMON TAYLOR TO THE STINGRAYS I am pleased to announce that Simon Taylor will be joining the Stingrays for the remainder of the 2020/2021 cricket season. Simon Taylor is a leg spin bowler who is currently attending the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy and recently completed two successful matches against the SACA Under 19 state team, taking three wickets in each game.... Simon was born in Zimbabwe and lived in Zambia and attended St Andrews College. He graduated from the Royal Agricultural University with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Applied Farm Management in June 2020, whilst working for a tree surgeon, an avocado farm, and big row cropping operations in Zambia. Simon’s cricket achievements are impressive: St Andrew College First XI leading wicket taker in the school’s history (2014-2016) Eastern Province Under 17’s leading wicket taker at national carnival in South Africa Selection in the Schools T20 Team of the Tournament (2015) St Georges T20 Team of the Tournament (2016) Provisional Zimbabwe Under 19 World Cup squad (2015) In addition to cricket, Simon has represented the Zambian school team in polo. Simon wants to realise the dream of playing cricket professionally and training with some of the best coaches whilst at the Stingrays and DLCA. He wants to give himself the best opportunity to play at the highest level possible. Please make Simon feel welcome at the Stingrays.

I apologise for any inconvenience but the situation is out of our control, however please come down to Cabra College at 2.00pm to support the 1st/2nd Grade. 18.01.2022 Please see the latest SACA COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols and take the time to familiarise yourselves with them to avoid repercussions. No sharing of equipment (pads, gloves, helmets and protective equipment). No sharing of food and drinks, players to bring their own drinks bottle with their name on it. The home club will not supply afternoon tea at ANY match this season. Players are to supply their own food for the match.... No physical contact during matches (high fives, shaking hands etc). Remember physical distancing 1.5m (pre-game huddles, at the fall of a wicket, meal or drinks breaks). If you feel unwell, stay away from training, games and or Club functions. No shining of the ball using sweat or saliva. Players, Team Managers and Match Officials to sanitise their hands before the game and regularly during the game as well as after the game. Only people authorised to use the change rooms may do so, all other parties or people may not enter. HOW TO MANAGE THE BALL The umpires will still be required to check the condition of the ball. The umpire will NOT handle the ball at any stage. The fielding captain will need to take the ball to the umpire for inspection. At the fall of a wicket or drinks break, the player that fielded the ball should place the ball next to the stump at the end of the pitch the next ball will be bowled from. At the conclusion of the session or at the end of a days play the fielding captain should place the ball back in its original packaging. HATS, VESTS AND SUNGLASSES The umpires will not be responsible to hold any of the fielding or batting teams equipment during a match. STUMPS The umpires will be responsible for setting or re-setting the stumps before and during the match. CRICKET CLUB AND FACILITIES Information will be available inside and outside on notice boards. To those players and officials who have completed the COVID-19 Marshall’s Training Course please copy your certificate onto your mobile phone should we have spot checks. Regards Rose

A member of this season's DLCA intake, George has had the opportunity to play in the Stingrays 1st Grade One Day Cup and 1st Grade T20 teams. 15.01.2022 Hi All, As you are all aware, we have lost 2 weekends of cricket (21st and 22nd and 28th and 29th of November) due to the cancellation of Community sport. SACA has informed that they have reviewed the fixtures and tried to reschedule as many of the games as possible. 08.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that work on the turf practice wickets has commenced and we hope to be in the nets by Tuesday, 13 October 2020. Carl has cancelled training on Sunday, 4 October 2020 and re-scheduled for Thursday, 8 October 2020. Should the trial games against Goodwood CC on Monday, 5 October 2020 be called off due to rain then there will be training on Tuesday, 6 October 2020 from 5.00pm till dark. Training will be an hour of fielding followed by a net session in the hard wickets. The Team Lists for the T20's on Monday, 5 October 2020 will be available later today.
