20.01.2022 This afternoon it was Stanthorpe's turn to throw a party, as Weeroona Park turned into the place to be, with heaps of delicious food and drinks, free activities... for the kids including access to the pool (the perfect way to spend a hot Australia Day) and plenty of shady spots to sit and enjoy the live music. Once again our Mayor Pennisi presided over the citizenship ceremony for 11 new Australians and handed out awards to four very deserving community members. 15.01.2022 It was all smiles at the Warwick Town Hall this morning as a small crowd gathered to welcome 15 new citizens to the region and to cheer for some of our finest c...ommunity members who were on hand to receive their Australia Day awards. Mayor Vic Pennisi presided over both the citizenship and awards ceremonies, which were rung in by Town Crier Bob Townshend and also included an inspirational speech from Australia Day Ambassador Mr Elijah Buol from Brisbane. Southern Downs Regional Council is proud to acknowledge our new citizens and worthy award winners on this, Australia Day, 2021. #southerndowns #mysdrc #AustraliaDayQLD
