25.01.2022 Book ideas for Christmas for you! For ages 3-5 years: Rodney Loses It!- by Michael Gerard Bauer, Chrissie Krebs (Illustrator)... Rodney was a rabbit who loved nothing more than drawing. He never found it tiresome, tedious or boring. But then one day, disaster struck, the one thing Rodney feared, while working at his drawing desk his pen just... DISAPPEARED! A truly hysterical search for a missing pen. #bookideas #lovereading #languagerichbooks #havealaugh

14.01.2022 For so many of us, the thought of making mistakes or failing is really scary and can stop us from trying new things or practicing challenging skills. The Epic Fail Game was designed to change the way people think and feel about failing! Through a series of fun games and activities it aims to teach everyone to tackle mental barriers, be kind to yourself and other others when failure occurs and how to find the bright side of difficult situations. The bigger the fail, the more ...epic and Eva in Goulburn is so excited to add this game to her tool kit and play this with her clients! https://www.theepicfailgame.com.au/ #buildingresilience #growthmindset

09.01.2022 COVID UPDATE - Hanrahan Health. With a number of current confirmed local cases in the Southern Highlands, this message is a reminder of our current policies in place to keep our staff and our clients safe. We request that if you have been named a close or a casual contact with a confirmed COVID case, unless you have a negative test result, that you do not visit our clinic, but instead reschedule or request a telehealth session instead. ... Our cleaning processes continue to ensure our clinics remain safe for all attending. We continue to wear masks at all times in our clinic, and ask all of our clients over the age of 12 to also wear a mask. We ask that you continue to try to physical distance at all times in the clinic. We ask that you try not to come to your appointments early, as our waiting rooms remain closed. Thank you for your understanding and help in containing this outbreak in our local community. #covidsafe #inthistogether Photo by CDC on Unsplash

06.01.2022 Christine Bryden is an author who was diagnosed with Dementia at 46 years old. She has shared some suggestions for the families and friends of people living with Dementia to help them to communicate in an effective and appropriate way. Some of these tips include: - Give us time to speak, wait for us to search around that untidy heap on the floor of the brain for the word we want to use. - Try not to finish our sentences. Just listen, and don’t let us feel embarrassed if we... lose the thread of what we say. - When you want to talk to us, think of some way to do this without questions that can alarm us or make us feel uncomfortable. - If we have forgotten something special that happened recently, don’t assume it wasn’t special for us too. Just give us a gentle prompt we may just be momentarily blank For more information, please look at https://www.dementia.org.au//Helpsheet-CaringForSomeone01-

06.01.2022 Time in your schedule during working hours to spend reading a research article of your choice, then more time in your schedule to share your learning with the team... yes please! At Hanrahan Health, we are passionate about learning, supporting each other to continue to strive for new knowledge and skills. One way we do this is through our journal club - where we spend time together sharing our learning from the latest research! Our meetings involve lots of brainstorming a...bout how we can implement the research into our sessions and keep improving our therapy services for our clients! #alwaysimproving #growthandlearning #loveourteam
