23.01.2022 I am sure that many gamefishers will join with me in mourning the passing today of one of the legends of marlin fishing in Australia. Billy Billson was larger t...han life, his contribution to our sport was incredible and there are many skippers out there who learned so much working the deck for the big fella on their way up in the world. So many anglers over so many years, so many stories, those that knew him will never forget. Let’s hope the book gets published, even though the last chapter is now so sad. Our condolences go to the family. Ian Bladin President

23.01.2022 Ben, Dan and Rob drove down from Phillip island last night to have a look for a barrel, they were rewarded for there efforts with this 103.7 kg barrel. This tuna was caught on a Jaks lumo bullet, and took 45 minutes to land.

23.01.2022 The bluefin remain elusive as a few boat ventured out for zero. Long liners got a few fish wide of the 151 line. Hopefully the weather improves and a few rec bo...ats can get that wide for a look...I haven't been fishing myself as i got my broken arm operated on today. But i did have a few mates try for snapper off the 6mile. The boys got two good snapper, but lost a fortune in micro lures to leather jackets.. water has cleared, but the yellow ones are turning up. 21.01.2022 The barrels are back!!! We had a great day fishing the tuna today, having 4 hookups on barrels and landing 2 ! The first one went 80kg , we then had a double ho...okup but a dolphin got tangled in the line and broke one off but we still landed the other which went 118kg! We then tried putting some baits down and the fellas hooked one on the spin gear which give all of them a workout for a hour before the braid gave way and the fish got to live another day. Both of the landed fish were on the customs rods and both took a Tsutomu 9" flashabou . Thanks for a great days fishing guys , we will see you again soon ! Cheers Tyson

17.01.2022 3 barrels caught today, ranging from 93kg to 121kg, the 121kg tuna is a pending world record as it was caught on 10kg line, beating the previous record by about 20kg, so well done to everyone involved with the capture.

10.01.2022 Julian, Jake and Cody got this 112kg barrel off cape grant today, this tuna took a homemade lure and after an hour it was in the boat.
