25.01.2022 Congratulations to Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway on all the great work done to receive Speedway Australia’s Most Improved Track of the Year 2020

22.01.2022 Today we held our AGM and discussed the remainder of the 20/21 season. We came to a unanimous decision that we will not continue with the 20/21 season for the best interest of our club, which includes drivers, pit crews, volunteers and spectators. Running meetings at small clubs can be tough, and now with covid-19 rules and regulations in place we don’t have enough volunteers to commit to following the correct regulations and we want to keep everyone safe. In the meantime w...e will be doing maintenance at the track to come back stronger for the 21/22 season. We hope everyone can understand and appreciate our decision. From the committee.

22.01.2022 DIFFICULT ANNOUNCEMENT Ladies & Gentleman, Racers, Sponsors & Spectators The Victorian Street Stock Series for 2020 / 2021 will not be happening.... The organisers can confirm that one venue pulled out due to their own constraints whilst two others have now cancelled meetings due to Covid. We would like to thank everybody for their interest in a 20/21 season however it is not viable to continue for obvious reasons. One venue that is still anticipating a potential start to the new season is Wangaratta. Wangaratta Speedway have a HUGE event planned for January IF restrictions in Victoria allow it to be financially viable. The planned event had a prize pool of $10,000- If you are a Street Stock racer and seek more details to potentially come across from South Australia, Wa & Tas or down from NSW & QLD please follow Wangaratta Speedway on Facebook and message them to find out more. We at VSSS & Media partner DMT Sports Media throw our support behind Wangaratta for their event.

We understand that everyone will respect this decision as we want keep spectators, racers and volunteers are safe and healthy. Any spread of Covid-19 can have a huge impact on our small community. 07.01.2022 Avalon Raceway make the dreaded announcement that vandals have raided the premises overnight causing massive damage and have stolen massive amounts of safety ge...ar among other things yet to be realised. Over $20k in safety and fire equipment alone was stolen, or expended, fire extinguishers all released inside the property, along with all safety gear stolen, including jaws of life and much needed recovery gear. To top it all off, these disgusting people have burnt out the Avalon Raceway ute as well. Security cameras and recordings were all tampered with as well. If anyone sees or hears of anything not up to scratch, cheap safety and fire fighting equipment for sale on Facebook please get in touch. Someone must know something and these vile individuals will pay for this, all within the crisis that the world is in today. We were rained out, corona'd out, even had our gates rammed earlier in the season by vandals, but this clearly takes the cake. If nothing else, know this, you will not get away with this. We will track you down. And you will be made accountable. We are more than willing to arrange an anonymous drop off point if the guilt gets the better of you finally. Please get in touch with us at Avalon Raceway if you have any information regarding this. Not at all what we needed in the middle of already trying times... Just shattered and at a loss for words.. Please share around..

07.01.2022 2020/2021 SSA NATIONAL TITLES WITHDRAWN Official Release Speedway Sedans Australia wishes to advise that the 2020/2021 SSA National Titles have all been postpo...ned due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 restrictions around the country at present. With no definitive timetable with regards to the easing of all borders, crowds and additional imposed restrictions in different jurisdictions, Speedway Sedans Australia in conjunction with the host venues of this season's National Titles have decided to postpone the hosting of those events until the 2021/2022 season. CEO of Speedway Sedans Australia Greg Lynd explains, "It is with regret that the SSA has had to make the unfortunate decision to postpone all five of our National Titles until the 2021/2022 season". "With border restrictions and social distancing requirements continuing to be an ongoing feature of everyday life in Australia at present due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as an organisation we believe it is in everyone's best interests to not push forward with our five National Titles for this season" Lynd continued. The greatest of opportunities must be available for all competitors, spectators and those respective venues in attending and hosting a National Title, with the current situations and what potentially and hypothetically lies ahead has indeed cast the biggest shadow for all involved and across the success of all National Titles. "In light of this decision we can announce that the host venues for the 2020/2021 season will be moved into the following year with the dates for those National Titles to be confirmed in consultation with all relevant parties" Lynd concluded. Speedway Sedans Australia would sincerely like to thank the five venues who will host SSA National Titles in the 2021/2022 season for working with our organisation for the betterment of the entire sport. We thank all our competitors across our six National Classes for their patience, understanding and co-operation as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times together. The 2021/2022 SSA National Title Host Venues SSA Junior Sedans- ACT Speedway (Canberra), Australian Capital Territory SSA Street Stocks- Make Smoking History Bunbury Speedway, Western Australia SSA Production Sedans- IBRP Kingaroy Speedway, Queensland SSA Modified Sedans- Heartland Raceway, Moama New South Wales SSA Super Sedans- Gulf Western & Independent Oils Raceway, Latrobe Tasmania Ends Release
