23.01.2022 Hi, my name is Binks. How can I help you today?

18.01.2022 Found yesterday, this little cutie is a tad unwell at the moment. If you can share to any pages that cover the Clayton area then we would love your help getting this little guy home. For any inquiries please call us on 9584 6100. We are open until 9pm weekdays & 7pm weekends & Covid restrictions are in place. Hopefully we can locate his owner soon

18.01.2022 For the sake of all our wildlife, please cut the loops before you dispose of these masks. Something so simple can make the world of difference

17.01.2022 EXTREME HEAT THIS WEEK - PLEASE KEEP YOUR ANIMALS INDOORS & DON'T WALK THEM IN HIGH TEMPS If you are unable to have them inside, then plenty of water and ...shade is essential. Perhaps someone can take care of them if you have to work or have other commitments? Troughs or containers should be firmly fixed so they cannot overturn. Ensure water containers are in the shade and add plenty of ice to the water to keep it cool. Perhaps you can place a clam shell pool in the shade and fill it with water so your dog can wade in the water to keep cool? Have you considered cooling mats? Animals at high risk of heat stress include: The young The elderly The overweight Dark coloured animals Brachycephalic breeds i.e. those with flat faces such as Frenchies, Pugs and Persian cats Animals that have been sick or have a previous history of respiratory disease Symptoms of heat stroke: Excessive panting or difficulty breathing Increased heart and respiratory rate Drooling Mild weakness, stupor or even collapse Seizures/Convulsing Bloody diarrhoea and vomiting along with an elevated body temperature MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you are ever unsure then please contact us immediately - 9584 6100 (http://bit.ly/SAH_ContactUs) and if you see an animal in distress in a hot car then dial 000. The Police are equipped to dispatch officers quickly from the nearest police station which is critical under these circumstances. All it takes is 6 minutes for an animal to perish in a hot car.
