04.01.2022 There's some great work being done at Jordan River Learning Federation Senior School to improve opportunities and learning outcomes for the students! Last week,... DoE Secretary Tim Bullard visited the school, where staff and students showcased how the school culture is changing, how wellbeing is improving and how vocational pathways are being strengthened. Tim also spent some time with students in the Construction Package of Learning class (who are finding the program extremely valuable) who have designed and built a coffee van which will be launched in Term 4. Exciting stuff!

02.01.2022 Multiple opportunities exist for proactive people with an interest in the timber industry and also have basic mechanical and general maintenance skills, to be i...nvolved in the manufacturing process of timber products in the Bridgewater area. Initially commencing on a casual basis, the Machinist roles require applicants who have sound numeracy and literacy skills, the ability to understand data, can estimate volumes, sizes and make calculations. Daily duties will include: * Basic machining * Timber grading * Manual labour * Detecting defects during the manufacturing process * Stacking and packing * Adhering to WHS standards * Working within a high functioning team environment Each applicant will be required to produce a recent police check, will be asked to take part in a functional screening test conducted by the employer and will at times be required to take part in on the spot drug and alcohol testing. Each applicant will be required to: * Be physically fit and have the ability to carry out manual labour duties * Have strong communication skills * Cooperate as an effective team member * Have the ability to detect anomalies in the workplace and take action when required The roles fall under the Timber Industry Award with the hours of work being: * Monday to Thursday 7am to 3.30pm * Friday 7am to 1pm Please forward most recent CV’s to [email protected] before close of business Friday the 9th of October.
