12.01.2022 This case highlights the importance of keeping your receipts safe and secure. In this case the taxpayer had claimed expenses from a business, but didn't keep his receipts, as he held an account. Unfortunately for him the business went into liquidation and could not supply copies of invoices. The ATO denied the expense claim. Have you ever thought "I could always obtain a receipt if ever the ATO requested it"? Might be time to re-think that strategy.

07.01.2022 A client has asked about the letter they’ve received regarding their business name renewal, and why it’s so much higher than normal. Please be aware that this letter has NOT come from ASIC, it’s from a third party who charge a fee themselves to administer your payment for you. The standard ASIC renewal fee is currently $37 for one year, or $87 for three years. Much less than what Registry are asking for.
