24.01.2022 PINK RIBBON MORNING TEA: Yesterday our Parque Vista residents enjoyed a delicious spread of goodies to raise funds for breast cancer research. We are very excited to have raised over $1,100 to go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Thank you to our residents for supporting this fundraiser and to all those who donated money and raffle prizes.

24.01.2022 October 25-31, 2020 is Pastoral Care Week, and we'd like to show our appreciation for our pastoral carers and the ministry which the caregivers provide. Thank you so much for everything you do in loving and serving our residents and clients. #pastoralcareweek

08.01.2022 Last week The Australian newspaper interviewed our CEO Jason Eldering about the introduction of voluntary assisted dying laws (VAD) in Queensland, who said that VAD would put SCCQ in a difficult position due to our Catholic mission and values. We would not be willing to join the assisted dying process. We would help any of our clients or residents to move to a location where they wished to pursue the assisted dying process, but we would never intervene to cause death in our facilities, said Jason. At Southern Cross Care Qld, our guiding principle is valuing and respecting human life, to which we are committed to upholding.

07.01.2022 As Christmas approaches, it’s often a time of festivity and fun in our residential aged care homes. We are looking forward to the love, connection and community that these festivities provide for our residents and their loved ones; however, the health and wellbeing of residents, families, staff and volunteers remains our highest priority. Due to COVID-19, the Queensland Government has provided us with guidelines for ensuring that any Christmas celebrations are safe for our residents, staff and visitors. 05.01.2022 TIME FOR A FEAST: Over the past few months, our residents at Caloundra Residential Aged Care haven't been able to go out to enjoy one of their favourite takeaway foods. The solution? Bring the takeaway to our residents! The Chinese food was complemented with lanterns for a proper Chinese banquet.
