23.01.2022 Karate training teaches far more than mere self defence. It teaches resilience and consequences, cause and effect; nothing says consequences like a punch in the nose because you didn't block

22.01.2022 22nd June and we're back. Modified format, but we're back :D

22.01.2022 One more week and current students are back on the mats!! We will not be accepting new students until term 3.

20.01.2022 Martial arts mirrors life in so many ways, with the dojo being a microcosm of reality. In the dojo there are no shortcuts in developing skill, the way lies in repetition of techniques and principles taught by a competent teacher in a progressive manner with a variety of opponenets and contexts. There is no 'matrix' style upload, no secret teachings from a mystical master(s). There is work. That gets you to point a), understanding what a technique is. Point b) is knowing how to do it, then you move on to c) why you do it (and conversely, why not) before finally working out d) when to do it. Only then is understanding and skill developed.

20.01.2022 Except these days it more like mopping the floor

Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub. *Maintain a safe physical distance.... *Wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible. *Dont touch your eyes, nose or mouth. *Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze. *Stay home if you feel unwell. *If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, get tested!
