23.01.2022 SCRC interim AGM 14th March 2020 Three items for discussion and outcomes listed below. These rule changes are effective immediately and will be applied to the 2019/2020 season. Please be patient with the points secretary as she backdates points and use the appropriate forums for contacting the committee if you have any questions. Motion one: Rookie members can be eligible to win the same rookie title 4 times instead of 2 Voted 11 in favour 4 against... Scrc rookie title eligibility will be increased from 2 years to 4. Meaning that you can be eligible to win the rookie title in any event a maximum of 4 times instead of previous 2. This is due to increase in money required to break open $6000 and members spending an increased amount of time as a permit member. Motion two: Amendment of current rule to allow for points to be back dated to the start of season on receipt of a letter from junior member requesting to be eligible for rookie titles. Current rule-Junior members competing in 2nd div events can be eligible for second div titles if there is no junior equivalent event. Members must apply to the board in writing in order to be eligible Motion three: SCRC committee members have been working on a proposal to be out to the apra in relation to a trophy levy being added to then entry fees to assist circuits in being able to fund end of season awards. This proposal will be discussed and votes on at Apra agm this year. Vote taken to determine member support. All In favour. See more

20.01.2022 The SCRC would like to pass on their sincerest condolences to the Daly family on the passing of Sam. Sam epitomised what it was to be a cowboy. Always there to help others out, willing to do the hard work behind the scenes and always smiling and happy to be heading to the next rodeo with his brothers and mates. He will be greatly missed behind the chutes at every Victorian rodeo. RIP

19.01.2022 It's with a very heavy heart we share the news that this year's Mount Isa Mines Rodeo will be cancelled for the first time in the event's proud 61 year history.... The 2020 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo will not go ahead due to the current biosecurity emergency. Isa Rodeo Chief Executive Officer Natalie Flecker said the Isa Rodeo Limited Board’s decision was made following the 18 March, 2020 declaration of a Human Biosecurity Emergency by the Australian Governor-General in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Ms Flecker said the current Biosecurity Emergency declaration was in force until at least mid-June, 2020, but could be further extended. While this is disappointing, the safety of our competitors, community, patrons, rodeo team, sponsors, volunteers and stock is our most important consideration and we are not prepared to hold the 2020 Rodeo event while the current pandemic continues to pose a human biosecurity emergency, she said. We will look forward to putting on an amazing event in 2021, and thank our very loyal sponsors, rodeo fans, competitors and everyone who loves the sport of rodeo. On behalf of the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo, we have just one wish that our Mount Isa community and Rodeo family stays well and we support each other through these challenging times until we come through, better and stronger. Ms Flecker also paid tribute to the 2020 Isa Rodeo Queen Quest entrants who had been forced to suspend their fundraising. Our three wonderful entrants, Krystle Chong, Kelly-Maree Jones and Maddie Grey will re-commence as 2021 Queen Quest entrants when it is appropriate to do so, she said. The Queensland Government, via Tourism and Events Queensland, is proud to support the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo which features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar. Isa Rodeo holds Australian Tourism Awards for Festivals and Events winning Gold (2018), Silver (2017) and Gold (2016). The 2021 Mount Isa Mines Rodeo will be held from 12-15 August, 2021 and is expected to attract more than 600 of Australia’s competitors and almost 40,000 visitors to experience the rodeo festival including RODEO ROCK concerts, the Isa Street Festival, Mailman Express horse races, bush poets breakfast and more.
