We ask that all customers who come to the Yacht Club for takeaway... comply with public health directions around community gatherings - meals need to be taken home to enjoy and not be eaten on the lawns. 23.01.2022 Please see below the email sent out to our e-mail subscribers yesterday: It is with a heavy heart that I write to you to advise we have shut the doors to our Venues today. We understand the safety and wellbeing of our community is what matters most. We will keep you updated on our social media pages, website and email updates. ... We are opening as many things as we can whilst of course following Government directions. This will help keep the greatest number of our valued staff working. Snapper - on the lake is open for takeaway, and for safety we have moved to totally cashless payments at Snapper. Meals from our venues are still available on UberEats, Menulog and Deliveroo, and we are implementing our own takeaway and home delivery service which should be available later this week. Some of our partners at Stellar Canberra, who are not required to shut down are staying open and you can still get a great takeaway coffee from the Stellar Caf too. We know this is a very difficult situation for all of us and we thank everyone for their ongoing support of our Southern Cross Club family. 02.01.2022 The Canberra Southern Cross Club is proud to be sponsoring this year's Clean-up Lake Burley Griffin Day , taking place on Sunday 15 November from 9am-12pm. We're well aware of the toll litter takes on the lake, with the Yacht Club and Snapper on the Lake on its shores and M.V. Southern Cross starting its return to the water, so this event is of particular importance to us. Last year, 130+ volunteers on foot, dragon boat, kayak, canoe and stand-up paddle boards took part i...n Clean-up Lake Burley Griffin Day. Together, they collected 108 bags of rubbish plus a number of plastic and industrial items that were too big to fit into the bags themselves. To participate in this year's event, sign-up at one of the six registration booths on the day, booths open from 8.30am. You'll need enclosed shoes and work gloves, any children under 16 will also require parental supervision at this event.
