19.01.2022 Things could be worse. I just did some quick research into the USA state most similar in population to Victoria. It’s Massachusetts. I don’t envy Dan Andrews p...osition of having to make decisions to control the movements and decisions of 6m+ people, but, like it or not, it’s working. edit - Victoria is ~8 times larger than Massachusetts Melbourne ~500 people per km2 Massachusetts ~250 people per km2 Victoria ~30 people per km2

18.01.2022 Michelle and I hope that the President, First Lady, and all those affected by the coronavirus around the country are getting the care they need and are on the p...ath to a speedy recovery. Obviously, we’re in the midst of a big political battle right now, and while there’s a lot at stake, let’s remember that we’re all Americans. We’re all human beings. And we want everyone to be healthy, no matter our party. See more

06.01.2022 What a way to say thank you to Goulburn healthcare workers during COVID-19. What is NSW Health thinking?

05.01.2022 Despite a Royal Commission, the Government has done nothing to support our crumbling aged care system. We continue to see headlines and hear horrific stories. Caring panel made up of Julie Collins MP (Shadow Minister for Ageing and Seniors), Lauren Hutchins (HSU), Lindy Twyford (HSU NSW Senior Vice President), Josie Peacock (Aged Care Worker) with Tara Moriarty (Shadow Minister for Mental Health, and Shadow Minister for Crown Lands) Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality a...nd Safety Aged Care in Australia: A Shocking Tale of Neglect Made worse by COVID-19 Outbreak Current governments ‘minister in hiding’ Problems in age care have been with us for a long time Cuts in funding have had tremendous negative effect No existing comprehensive plan 630+ older Australians in Aged Care have died so fair Clear the Home Care Package Waiting List Improve staffing levels Overworked staff despair and anxiety Good jobs and decent wages for aged care workers Greater transparency on where funding is going Resident social worker in nursing homes Weak relationship between revenue and quality of care. 03.01.2022 Last year I met with a gentlemen called Troy. He told my colleague Tim Crakanthorp MP and I that he had been living out his car for such a long time and he reli...ed on charity so that he and his partner could get something to eat. When our Parliament was effectively shut off from the public I thought of Troy and what we could do to help vulnerable people like him during this awful time. I approached the Speaker of the Parliament about using the commercial kitchens and catering team to use their culinary skills to provide great quality, ready to eat meals for those experiencing hardship and homelessness. I was delighted to receive an update that as of yesterday 82,873 meals had been prepared. I have been thinking of Troy today and hoping that he was doing better, but I also wanted to thank him for telling me his story and that it inspired me to try and make a small difference. Thanks mate.

03.01.2022 John Barilaro and the NSW Nationals have their priorities totally wrong They won't stand up to the Liberals on issues that really matter, but will stand up to... them when they don't want to protect koalas. From fighting for jobs in the regions, under threat due to this Liberal Government, to taking real action on climate change - John Barilaro and the NSW Nationals are silent. But when it comes to protecting our koalas for future generations, they threaten to bring down the Government. If the Nationals really want to represent regional communities, how about they start by putting the priorities of regional communities first ALL the time, not just when it suits their political game playing.
