25.01.2022 This is what a big $74 shop looks like at the coop! A huge 10L container of biodynamic rolled oats (80 breakfasts worth), a litre of organic olive oil, a kilo of organic basmati rice, 500g each of otway pasta, organic sultanas and cashews, a big container of organic puffed grains, a jar of organic smoked paprika, organic peanut butter, and a block of organic dark chocolate. There were also 2 chocolate truffles in the basket, but I ate them :) There is no single-use packaging... in this shopping basket, except for the peanut butter jar and the compostable packaging around the chocolate. Its almost all from Australian organic farmers. Just top quality, unprocessed, healthy food thats kind to the environment and doesnt cost an arm and a leg. If youre not already shopping at the coop why not drop in and give it a try! Open every Tuesday at the Apollo Bay youth club from 3 til 5pm, and on the 3rd Sunday of the month as part of the farmers market. We are entirely volunteer-run for the community. BYO containers for a packaging-free shop and members receive a 10% discount. ALL welcome. See more

22.01.2022 Its plastic free July! One of the simplest way to cut down on your households packaging footprint is to shop at the food coop. Open every Tuesday at the Apollo Bay youth club :)

22.01.2022 How have your shopping habits changed this year? We're finding many of our coop members are choosing to do bigger shops less often, and stocking up on bulk quantities of a few essentials. Luckily, that is exactly what the coop is designed to provide to our community! We buy everything in bulk (usually in 10-25kg bags), and you can choose how much (or little) you would like to purchase of each item, with zero plastic packaging. Some of the most popular bulk foods we provide a...re rolled oats, rice, flour, Otway pasta, almonds, maple syrup, olive oil, Hello Coffee whole beans, loose-leaf rooibos and black tea. Pro tip: find a few big airtight containers for storing your bulk foods. Cafe 153 often gives away super-useful 10L ice-cream containers which will hold around 5kg of oats or rice, and we've also nabbed some free feta cheese buckets from the Foodworks deli on occasion! The food coop is open at the Apollo Bay youth club every Tuesday from 3pm til 5pm. Please drop your order off before 4.30pm so we have plenty of time to fill it. We are entirely volunteer-run for the community. Members receive 10% off their purchases, and ALL are welcome to drop in to do some shopping. See you there!

21.01.2022 It's membership time at the food coop! Our annual household memberships cost just $20 full / $15 concession and entitle you to 10% off all your purchases at the coop. We have a great range of organic and biodynamic bulk foods and household items, and we are entirely volunteer-run. Our aims are to help reduce plastic packaging waste in Apollo Bay, and to increase access to healthy, organic food in our area. We return any small annual profits back into the community via sponsorship and donations. Open every Tuesday at the Apollo Bay youth club from 3pm til 5pm. Please drop off your order by 4.30pm at the latest so we have plenty of time to fill it, and of course observe social distancing, use hand sanitiser provided, and ask a friend or neighbour to shop for you if you feel unwell. ALL welcome. See you there!

We've got carob-coated ginger, shredded coconut, super-fresh fennel seeds, sweet paprika, and chilli flakes alongside our usual line-up of quality organic bulk foods, pantry items, and treats. The food coop is open every Tuesday afternoon at the Apollo Bay youth club from 3 til 5. We have a huge range including flour, rice, tea, coffee, oats, olive oil, nuts, dr...ied fruit, chocolates, dishwashing liquid, and lots more. The coop is entirely volunteer-run for the community. 19.01.2022 WE ARE OPEN TODAY! The food coop is opening as usual on Cup Day. See you at the Apollo Bay youth club from 3 til 5pm, every Tuesday :) We have a huge range of healthy, sustainably-grown organic foods and pantry items. 18.01.2022 **COOP UPDATE** The food coop will be open as usual on Tuesday from 3pm til 5pm at the Apollo Bay youth club. Please note we are making further changes to our social distancing and hygiene measures, and will no longer accept reusable bags and containers for refilling. We will fill your dry goods into paper bags, and liquids into clean bottles and jars that we have on hand. We will also be limiting the number of people coming into the hall at any one time. We are no longer all...owing self-serve so expect at least a one hour wait to have your order filled. Its best if you can drop your order off between 3 and 4pm, then come back before 5pm to pick up. If you are able to fill out your order form before you come in that helps us keep everyone moving efficiently through the space. While we certainly dont wish to encourage stockpiling, it is helpful if you can buy what you need for a few weeks rather than dropping in more often for smaller items. We are experiencing higher-than-usual demand each week, so we appreciate your patience. If you do attend the coop please observe social distancing between yourself and others (minimum 2m), use hand sanitiser provided, and bring a card not cash. Other ways to help (if you can) are to nominate one person from your household to shop, rather than coming in together, and to leave kids at home or outside if they are old enough. Please do offer to shop for a neighbour or anyone who needs a hand! Thank you for your patience and kindness as we adjust to a very different way of doing things. We are entirely volunteer-run for the community, and we are prioritising the health and safety of all concerned.
