23.01.2022 Preston and Rawlinson on board for 2021 After a great first season as coaches in 2020, culminating in a second consecutive grand final appearance, Southern Power AFC are thrilled to announce that Josh Preston and Dean Rawlinson have recommitted to the Platinum Senior coaching roles for the 2021 season. ‘Presto’ and ‘Deano’ have represented the club in tremendous fashion over the last few years, playing pivotal roles in the Senior team’s premiership success in 2019, and... in particular, maintaining a high standard of training, gameplan and community in a year severely affected by the current pandemic. The club wishes Presto and Deano well as they lead the club into pre-season this week, with the common goal of going one better in season 2021. There are still coaching positions available at the Power, and the club would love to hear from prospective candidates. 16.01.2022 Coaching Applications for Season 2021 Open Southern Power Australian Football Club are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced coaches for our Men’s and Women’s Senior teams for the 2021 season. Southern Power are looking to build on a very successful 2020 which saw the club secure a premiership in the under 19’s Division two, along with finals appearances in the Men’s Platinum Division, Platinum Division Reserves and a semi-final appearance for th...e Women’s premier division. The club is now on the lookout for candidates to fill the following coaching positions: Premier Division Women’s Coach and Assistant Coach. Men’s Platinum Division Coach. Men’s Platinum Division Reserves Coach. Women’s Second Division Coach. Men’s Third Division Coach. Women’s Third Division Coach. U19s Division 2 Coach and Assistant Coach. The successful applicants must possess the following attributes: The ability to create a culture that is challenging, enjoyable and inclusive. Proven track record of implementing game plans and structures. Great communication skills with the playing group and football committee. Engagement with wider coaching group and our trusted local junior clubs in Miranda Bombers, Bangor Tigers, Heathcote Hawks and Cronulla Sharks. Willingness and ability to develop players of various abilities and experience. Minimum Level 1 coaching certificate is required, with Level 2 strongly encouraged. 08.01.2022 Edwards and Fitzsimons back for more in 2021 Southern Power AFC are proud to announce that club legends Tom Edwards and Sean Fitzsimons have recommitted to the club for 2021 and will once again coach the Platinum Division Reserves team. ‘Bruz’ and ‘Fitzy’ enjoyed a great first year at the helm of the ‘Ressies’, developing the youth coming through the ranks and maintaining the team’s competitiveness in the Platinum Reserves competition. ... The goal is simple from Bruz and Fitzy to the squad - a third premiership in four years. The boys are very much looking forward to getting to work from next week to make that ambition a reality. The club is very fortunate to have two quality footballers and men leading the Ressies team, and we wish them both well for season 2021.
