We can't run tours at the moment but we can tell you some great places to go. For everyone else still in lockdown, we are thinking of you.

21.01.2022 Hello to all. With restrictions so tight in Victoria we are obviously not doing tours. We hope that everyone is staying safe. Let's all get through this and get back to life. From everyone at Southern Sons, take care

17.01.2022 TOOLANGI STATE FOREST Situated about 60 km north east of Melbourne, Toolangi provides excellent opportunities for camping, bushwalking, picnicking, ...bird watching and awesome trails to explore with your fur friends. 1Wirrawilla Rainforest Walk - a short gentle boardwalk that winds under dense, ancient sassafras and myrtle beech trees, alongside the towering tallest flowering trees (and moss) in the world! 2Tanglefoot Loop - a spectacular walk through the majestic Mountain Ash and delves into fern gullies and cool, temperate rain forests. It’s MAGICAL! The track is 9km one way, taking about 3 or so hours. 3Myrtle Gully Circuit - one of three great walks starting from the Wirrawilla car park in the Toolangi State Forest. The walk is approximately 10km in length and meanders through lush ferns and tall, ancient Myrtle trees. 4Toolangi Sculpture Trail - located within the Toolangi Bushland Reserve is this forest gallery of ephemeral art pieces that are dotted along the trail and have all been designed to fit into the natural environment. Boot up! - Bring suitable clothing and footwear as the trail can be muddy under foot, small streams form over paths and a cool misty fog sets in this time of year. Dogs are allowed in Toolangi State Forest but please remember to keep your best friend on a leash and clean up after them so that these trails remain the same for future visitors. Catch the Melba Highway out of Melbourne and then take the Healesville-Kinglake Road towards Toolangi. Pass through Toolangi (drop into the Toolangi Sculpture Trail if you have a chance - awesome) and then take Myers Creek Road and finally Sylvia Creek Road to reach the Wirrawilla Car Park (there are basic amenities here). All up about 90 mins from Melbourne CBD.
