25.01.2022 I get a call or message every day from passers-by who see our chickens out on the road verge. Thank you for caring. Not sure what they go looking for but they sure do love the road verge. And yes they do make their way home safely each night #southernstarslife

25.01.2022 We have our annual hot rod event, Bully’s Campout, this weekend and our first ‘rod’ has arrived for a few days of R&R before the craziness hits on Friday. Welcome Max and Sonia ! PS Just a reminder that this will be a closed event Friday and Saturday with no visitors allowed in the park. However if you wish to see all the cars in their glory they will be holding a ‘Show n Shine’ outside Shelter Brewing Co on Saturday between 12pm-3pm. #southernstarslife

21.01.2022 When visiting us during October/November you may see the odd orange cone sitting around our roads edges. We have these beautiful little ground birds, Killdeers, that unfortunately for us, lay their eggs in gravel and on road verges ... and we have both gravel and road verges So we are using the cones to mark the 'nest' so people hopefully will not drive too close to it. This season we have only found one 'nest' , however last year we had many scattered around the park. So if you see one of these cones out there, we ask that you don't disturb mumma bird or her eggs. Leave them to do their thing and hopefully we see the babies return next year with their new mate to create their new family. #southernstarslife

18.01.2022 USING EXTENSION LEADS ON POWERED SITES We are seeing a lot of power leads in the park this Summer that are inferior quality or just too skinny. These leads are not able to cope with the amount of power that the vans are pulling through them and they are heating up and melting into our power outlets. So to save any inconvenience to you, as guests, we would appreciate if anyone visiting us could please ensure that they have invested in a good heavy duty extension lead (and please do not use leads that are altered or ‘filed down’ in any way). We thank everyone for their cooperation. (see photo in comments which shows a heavy duty 15A cord to the left and a skinny 15A cord to the right)

10.01.2022 NOVEMBER 2015 .... this is how we used to water the lemon trees that you now see established out on the end of Big Rig sites 6 and 7. Every day Todd would drive up and down with his makeshift watering station, and Matilda and Nat would sit on the ute tray turning the water on and off...oh they were the days...NOT!!!
