24.01.2022 Were really excited to have BOOK CLUB still running this Term, but it will look a little different! It will be a virtual catalogue rather than the printed catalogues youre used to receiving. To order from this issue go to: Scholastic.com.au/Book-Club/virtual-catalogue-1/... Place your order on LOOP as normal and orders need to be in by: 18th May 2020 We will receive your order here to our school like normal. Once your order arrives, we will contact you to arrange for collection: Books will be available for collection from the front office at the Senior Campus if your child is not attending school at this time. If you have any questions or queries, please contact: Lou Rickwood - [email protected]

18.01.2022 It has been a week of goodbyes for the Young Leaders and their buddies in the Hobart Program at Southern Support School. However, we don't like to call it goodb...ye, but instead 'see you later'! Despite such a disrupted and challenging year, our 2020 program participants have made the most of the times they had together and still created lasting friendships and memories! This week groups celebrated by exchanging cards and gifts, sharing picnics and hot chips! and having conversations about what their friendship means to them. Watch this space for details about our online statewide "Virtual Graduation' where we will celebrate with the 2020 program participants! #allabilities #inclusion #buddies #friendship #graudation #ylot
16.01.2022 **Important message from the Principal regarding return to school**
14.01.2022 Dear Southern Support School Community Thank you for your overwhelming support of our SSSTV program. Feedback has been extremely positive, both from those learning from home, and those onsite at school. As you would be aware the Tasmanian Government has announced its return to onsite schooling policy for learning to return to an onsite delivery. In line with this, and as students return to learning onsite, we are moving to delivering SSSTV 3 times a week, Mondays, Wednesdays ...and Fridays. Unfortunately, this Wednesdays episode was posted a day early. We will repost this episode tomorrow. Eventually the model will move to a weekly program, delivering the same excellent quality content to support student learning, particularly through video modelling. This will allow us to ensure the model is sustainable. Keep on watching, and keep on sending in your feedback, it is much appreciated. The program has been a great outcome from a challenging time. Kind regards Simon Ellaby Principal

02.01.2022 Your child uses many ways to communicate. This may include their AAC system, their facial expressions, gestures, signs and body language. Whether your child talks a lot or not at all, their AAC system can help them with their communication. We will be posting a range of tips from the AAC Coach Facebook page to help you to use your childs AAC system with them. If you want to talk more about this please contact your childs teacher or speech pathologist
