14.01.2022 Lung post @bonniecurtisprojects #artstate takeover! This time last year I went to Artstate in Tamworth. The land was dry and dusty, the air was grey with smoke and my lungs choking with all of nature's fury.... Being in Wagga this year, with the lush green countryside and cool, fresh air is quite a striking contrast. Seeing these lungs is quite a poignant image for me. The threat to our lungs is incredible with COVID, bushfires and drought. The lungs that delivers us life sustaining oxygen. Being in nature along with this image makes me think about how beautiful and fragile our country is. #sta #starts @artstatensw

10.01.2022 The NSW Rail Museum at Thirlmere in Wollondilly is a great cultural stop on a Sunday. Apart from the option to get on board for a steam train ride, the rail history on display is simple awe-inspiring. Like this 'Rail Pay Bus' which delivered the wages of rail employees all over the system. The one on display the 'FP1' was restored in 2009 by Rail Corp apprentices. It's twin the 'FP5' had a more spectacular end in 1941 when it was blown off the tracks in an explosive robbery... only a few kilometres from where the museum now stands. The thieves got away with around 2000 in cash and were never caught. STA Director Rose Marin was recently treated to a tour of the museum with Clr Michael Banasik Deputy Mayor of Wollongdilly by David Bennett from the Museum.
