25.01.2022 A very informative read regarding your pets safety in the hot weather "I would say it would kind of be like a third degree sunburn because the pads are very sensitive," Dr Capell said. "You'll see that the actual pad is peeling off and you'll see the raw tissue underneath, which is very, very painful.... "Imagine your feet being burnt and having to bear weight."

23.01.2022 We hear so many beautiful stories when our clients decided to adopt a new friend! Such a rewarding thing to give a furry friend a second chance and a new family

23.01.2022 A good news story for Leo & Jax! After returning home to find both boys trembling and having seen snakes previously in the backyard, Leo and Jax’s mum quickly rushed the pair to us at 5:50pm November 20th. After speaking with the boys Mum and assessing both patients Dr Mandy administered anti-venom and started intravenous fluids. Both boys became part of the hospital family while they stayed with us over the following week. After a few touch and go moments we were so thrilled to eventually send Leo and Jax’s home to their Mum. This photo was taken 3 weeks after the initial snake bite and we are so impressed with how they have both recovered! These happy outcomes are what makes this job so great and we love it when our patients stop back into the hospital to let us know how they are getting on

12.01.2022 Our beautiful boy Waylon came in for his 16 week needles on Friday and a quick weigh in. The big boy has gotten 10kg heavier over the last month! Waylon got to meet Syed, a Vet from Bangladesh. Currently working as a meat inspector at the abs and is working towards getting qualified to be a vet in Oz. He is currently joining us for some work experience as part of that.

05.01.2022 It is well and truely Christmas here at STVH As the summer festive season is ramping up, here are a few reminders regarding your pets care: - Ensure your pet has ample fresh water available - Keep eyes peeled for snakes - No excessive feeding or treats with yummy Christmas food! We see a high prevalence of pancreatitis this time of year - A pet is a long term commitment, remember this when considering a pet for a gift... - Spoil your furry friends! They do so much for us especially in a year like 2020 See more

04.01.2022 A friendly reminder of Christmas foods that your pet needs to avoid! Every Christmas we see a large amount of sick pets with pancreatitis from eating the wrong foods as well as gastrointestinal problems.
