24.01.2022 HEY! WE ARE ALMOST BACK TO NORMAL..... With the latest Covid-19 updates as from Friday the 19th of June we may have up to 75 people in the stadium, play doubles and supply food/drink from the canteen as long as it is consumed while seated at a table. This means that players wont have to book into sessions and we no longer have to split the Tuesday and Friday morning sessions. We are still required to record who attends each session, maintain high hygiene standards and pro...mote social distancing. Part of social distancing is to not be in a room with other persons for more than 2 hours so we ask that you limit your visits to 2 hours. Effective Monday, 22 June, the following weekly session hours apply: Monday night social play 6.30pm to 10pm Tuesday morning social play 9am to 12pm Tuesday night juniors 7pm to 8.30pm Wednesday night social play 7pm to 9.30pm Friday morning social play 9am to 12pm Friday night social play 6.30pm to 10pm We expect to open up again soon on Sunday mornings and we are also looking at commencing competitions. Please note for the Tuesday and Friday mornings social sessions coffee and biscuits will again be provided but there is an expectation that people will social distance. There are no concessions fees for the morning sessions. See more

21.01.2022 Winter Competition We will be running a shortened 11 week winter competition on Wednesday and Thursday nights commencing on the 15th July. The format will be 5 teams per division playing 2 rounds. The top 2 teams will play for the premiership. Given the current Covid 19 environment there will be no doubles. There is further information on our website including entry forms. Entries are due on Monday the 6th of July.

18.01.2022 City of Onkaparinga Junior Tournament - Reminder - Have you lodged your entry yet? The first tournament for 2021 to be held on Sunday, 14 February. *** Entries close this Friday, 5 February *** Due to Covid restrictions only 9 events are being offered (U19, U17, U15, U13 & U11 boys & girls singles) and players may only enter 2 touching age events. All events will be scheduled in terms of table number and time. The draw will be posted on the Southern website prior to the tournament and players will receive a personal email advising when their matches are scheduled. Entry forms can be accessed on the TTSA and Southern websites, with hard copy entry forms also available at your local Club. Please ensure you have your entry lodged by Friday, 5 February.

07.01.2022 Southern Table Tennis was at Woodcroft Primary School yesterday afternoon to witness a fantastic initiative of PE Teachers Scott and Michael in inviting 3 other primary schools to their venue to compete in a table tennis challenge. Under the banner of Onkaparinga North SAPSASA District, the Woodcroft Primary Gym was turned in to a 16 table tennis venue to host 12 teams from Clarendon, Morphett Vale East, Flaxmill and Woodcroft Primary schools. Two round robin groups of 6 teams in each were formed with team matches being 4 singles and 2 doubles. A great initiative by Woodcroft Primary for which Southern was pleased to be involved and provide prizes for the winning teams.

As restrictions apply, it is important you book your practice sessions by going to the Southern Table Tennis website and have a read of the last News article and use the links to book practice sessions.

05.01.2022 A sunny Monday morning....what better than head to the outdoor table tennis table at Dressage Avenue, Woodcroft. That was the thinking of 4 members of Southern Table Tennis this morning as they grabbed their table tennis bat and tennis racquet and headed to the community reserve at Woodcroft. Check out the rally on the attached video. Later they adjourned to the tennis courts for the best of 5 sets.

02.01.2022 Smash Hit Southside, Saturday 30 Jan - A full compliment of junior players saw all 11 tables at Southern kept busy at this mornings round of Smash Hit. This years program is proving quite challenging to settle the 3 divisions with weekly results reflecting many close matches and evenness between players. Next week matches are back at Brighton / Adelaide venues. 02.01.2022 It seems things are on track for the resumption of table tennis indoors as of (just changed) Friday, 5th June 2020. There will be restrictions in terms of numbers in attendance at any one time, and hygiene and social distancing needs to be maintained. More details shortly. Meanwhile, why not go to Dressage Avenue Woodcroft and have a hit on the outdoor table tennis table. Some STT keen players have been doing just that, and enjoying a hit of tennis and a BBQ to cap off the morning session. All being well, you will be back in action at the table in just over 2 weeks time, so start limbering up.
