24.01.2022 We were joined today with the new Archery SA President, John Vine Hall. It was great to hear his vision and direction for Archery SA and our clubs. A huge thanks to John who jumped in at the last minute for this and for stretching the 15 minutes to 45. The whiz bang of modern technology means that while I couldn't live stream Pat Coghlan, I have loaded Pats chat up here and on our youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/cha/UCnh6W1JONusGlujtZBR-gnQ/videos

To make up for that I'd like to invite you to an interview with Pat Coghlan that we recorded in the last lockdown. So if you're not doing anything, join us on Saturday at 13:00 (1pm Adelaide time) for the live event.

12.01.2022 SVAC Tournaments ROSNEY JOHNS JUNIORS (registered Target) and DEB UPRIGHT FIELD CLASSIC (registered FITA Field) tournaments Read on..... This year our club re-evaluated the suitability of the Rosney Johns Memorial Field Tournament (RJMFT). It is well known that Rosney wasn’t a huge fan of field archery, but she was an extraordinarily strong supporter of developing and mentoring juniors and being one of our founding members we are keen to continue remembering her great love of archery. In light of this, we created a new tournament called the Rosney Johns Juniors. It will be solely for Junior archers, mirroring the Short Distance they shoot at Youth Nationals, and registered with AA so scores go towards their ranking. It will consist of 2 x 72 arrow rounds the first 72 arrow round starting at 10am, and the second round of 72 arrows starting at 1.30pm (or a fraction later if completing the first one plus lunch goes longer than expected). We have designed brand new medallions featuring Rosney, which will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placegetters in each division. Juniors will need to complete BOTH rounds to be eligible for medallions. This brand new tournament will be held on our grounds on Sunday 6th December. Entries will be open soon online. The previous Rosney Johns Memorial Field Tournament was a favourite amongst the SA archery community, and we didn’t want to just let it go. Deb Upright, who is a Life Member of SVAC, and a dedicated Coach for everyone (especially juniors), loves shooting field, so it seemed appropriate to honour this wonderful club member with a tournament named after her. Our very first Deb Upright Field Classic has been designed along the same lines as the previous RJMFT with one important difference there will be a Highest Offbow for males as well as females. The perpetual trophy that is being made will identify both the Highest Offbow Female and the Highest Offbow Male scores each year. It is being held on the Victor Harbor Archery Club grounds. This a registered FITA Field. We have also designed brand new medallions featuring Deb, which will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placegetters in each division. This is NOT a crossbow tournament it is for all types of bows Entries are online, click on the link below to register https://eventdesq.sportstg.com/index.cfm Entries close next Sunday night 18 October

07.01.2022 We are sooooo looking forward to getting out of lockdown tonight, but that won't mean everything will instantly go back to "pre-lockdown normal". Our last correspondence with Seaford Rec Centre was that court hire cannot resume, just gyms are reopening. So at this point in time, we do not have an opening day/time for Indoor. Please be patient, we will announce it as soon as we possibly can
06.01.2022 Times running out!! You want to play with this one Tanya and Luke need a $10 deposit to sign you in for the event!!! See them on Saturday!
05.01.2022 Hi everyone, here is another one of our videos from the last lockdown. We can always learn something and we had a visit from the Bow Doctor who took us through how to check, repair and make arrows. So no matter what you shoot, I hope you enjoy SVAC's Lockdown Special.
03.01.2022 Happy Birthday to club member Robert Macri!!
02.01.2022 Happy 79th Birthday to Former 2 x Club President and Life Member Vic Jeffery.
01.01.2022 We have yet to be given a date for reopening (rumoured to be December 1....maybe/maybe not) so unfortunately we have had to postpone both the Longly Longbow and the Rosney Johns Juniors tournaments. We will reschedule them when we can be (relatively) confident that we will be able complete them. For those who have entered already, we will reach out to you for your decision on whether to refund or hold your entry. Thank you for your understanding!
