25.01.2022 Changes to Mask restrictions!! Masks still required in reception at drop off and pick up!! As many of you know masks are now not required outdoors except in cases where distancing is tough (ie; Bunnings sausage sizzle line!). How does this impact daycare drop off and pick up?... - Mask required in reception at drop off/pick up. - We will still require you to wear masks in line In cases where you can’t distance, if there is one or two in line then you can distance appropriately and no mask is required:) If you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to ask:) So sorry about our delay in the Thursday photos!! Here they are!! #masks #thursday
25.01.2022 Here’s all the questions answered If you’re wanting to know if: Dogs fight at daycare? ... Or If we discipline dogs at Daycare... Then watch this video:)

17.01.2022 STAGE 3 RESTRICTIONS: WE ARE OPEN! DAYCARE AND GROOMING RUNNING AS NORMAL (WITH PRECAUTIONS) We are still open for daycare and grooming as normal during stage 3 lockdown! As usual our normal Covid rules apply; one person in reception at a time, musks, hand sanitisers available on arrival, regular disinfecting of reception etc. ... What will be cancelled or postponed are Private consultations, group classes and puppy preschools. Unfortunately we are not able to run these due to gathering restrictions. With Private consultations it is simply not easy to social distance during consults due to their nature and we are also spending large amount of time in close contact. It’s really unfortunate as we were finally kicking back off with all these services but we have to do what we can to keep everyone safe! Please read below RE our plans for the above cancelled services: PUPPY PRESCHOOL All puppy preschools have been cancelled. We are working out a way in which we can create a class for puppies that have booked in during lockdown even though they are technically too old by then for preschool. You will receive notification via txt on this. We are also pretty much finished an online puppy preschool and will be very active on social media with puppy tips and tricks during lockdown! GROUP CLASSES AND PRIVATE CONSULTS All group classes and private consultations will be POSTPONED (not cancelled) by 6 weeks. In some group classes case due to the way the course dates fall it may be a bit more than 6 weeks. You will receive notice of this via txt message in the coming days. For both services, if you no longer want the date 6 weeks in advance just let us know as we can then fill that date/time up. We are really sorry for the inconvenience. We would love to be able to run all our services but unfortunately with the current environment we can’t. Any questions don’t hesitate to ask! From Everyone at SCK9!

14.01.2022 Me when I first opened a daycare: Look we will get the play gyms but I really don’t think the doggo’s are going to use them ....behold, The Cavoodle Castle (plus a Cocker Spaniel)!!!... #wednesdays #theyusethem #moneywellspent
14.01.2022 If my dog is smiling in photos does that mean they are super stoked?? Honestly, probably no more than if they have their mouth closed in most situations but it certainly makes for a great photo!! Typically, dogs with mouths open and loose body language usually means they are nice and relaxed and having a good time. However, dogs also pant to regulate their body temperature. So on hotter days you will notice more smiley doggos in photos. On the flip side if your doggos mouth... is closed it doesn’t mean they aren’t happy either. Some dogs automatically close their mouth when they are focusing on something like a treat for the photo! They may also not be warm body temp wise. In some situations a closed mouth can indicate stress but you need to assess the dogs body language as a whole. A dog with a closed mouth can simply mean...a dog with a closed mouth, nothing more. #smileydoggos #tuesdays

12.01.2022 When it’s 2020 and someone is talking super way too close and all you can think about is incubation periods, asymptomatic cases and if three layer masks really do work. #pleasework #1.5mplease #lenny #ryder #thursday
11.01.2022 Continuing on with my durability appreciation posts.... Here we have this trusty pool...which is actually a fish pond from Bunnings! Now we have mowed through our fair share of plastic shell pools. Normally after a little while it cracks or gets holes in them from wear and tear and has to be thrown out. We’ve purchased that many that Bunnings headquarters have probably congratulated the Ballarat store on somehow being able to sell so many.... HOWEVER Those congratulations may be coming to an end!! We purchased this banger of a fish pond from Bunnings over a year ago and it’s still like the day we got it!! It’s more expensive than the plastic shell pools but the initial investment has already paid for itself. Highly recommend! Moral of the story is...get the fish pond. Don’t get the shell pool! #getthepond #dontgettheshellpool #mondays
11.01.2022 Congratulations to all our puppy school and beginner class graduates who completed their classes over the last few weeks!! Check out all the happy doggos!!’

05.01.2022 Yesterday was quite a stormy day! Any day with thunderstorms presents an interesting situation for dog daycares! Many dogs struggle with thunderstorms not just due to the sound, but also the change in air pressure! Some experts believe the change in air pressure is a big reason why some dogs struggle so much! Thankfully, all the dogs were super brave and still had a great day!! Lots of treats and fun activities during thunderstorms can create positive associations with its oc...currence!! How does your pooch go with thunderstorms? #Wednesdays
03.01.2022 Quick training tips: DIGGING - Get shell pool from Bunnings (around $20)... - Get some sand from Bunnings. Enough to fill shell pool. - Buy Tarp from Bunnings. - Get dry food treats that won’t stick to sand. - Put tarp underneath shell pool and fill pool with sand. - Add dry treats! The above method is quite effective!! Because if your dog digs in the sand pit...they get a treat! If they dig in your yard, nothing comes of it! Eventually your dog will start to only dig in the sand pit because it pays them. It’s also getting to summer and dogs do dig to get to cooler ground if they are hot!! Make sure you have adequate, shade, water and pools to keep them cool so they don’t see the need to dig holes! #friday
03.01.2022 The staff aren’t welcome in the cool kids area apparently #mondays
01.01.2022 With all the hot days coming up it’s now time for us to put away all our heating equipment and bring out all the cooling gear!! This year we have: - Misters throughout facility that let out a fine spray to keep the doggos cool!... - Sprinklers. - Lots of pools! - Huge industrial fans! - heaps of Gazebos and shade sail! - More indoor areas for dogs to keep away from the sun!! - We also bring out ice blocks with stock and Icey Doggo treats when it’s super hot!! And of course automatic water bowls and plenty of manual water sources throughout the facility! We also check that your dog is taking breaks, drinking and keeping cool throughout the day to ensure your dog is comfortable!! #wednesdays
