18.01.2022 The small corner store are slowly disappearing! (Hardware's, Deli's, Fruit & Veg, Shoe shops, Bike shops, Small Electrical shops, etc, etc), The close friendship with customers! gone! I remember my mum couldn't afford bread or milk a few times for us 4 kids this week, so the nice man (Max) at our corner Deli would let mum pay next week on her pension day! would Woolworth or Coles do that!

12.01.2022 After 59 years, we are forced to close our doors, The competition with the big store, just got to hard! At the end of this week we will have finish the cleaning up, the shop is now empty. From us all at South Henley Hardware. A big thank you to all our costumers (friends) over the years, we will miss you so much!!

10.01.2022 Well the end of an era. Our shop South Henley Hardware shut down (after 60 years) and the premises went up for auction Sat morn and was sold. Did well. Think Dad, Mum, (Granddad, Grandma) would have been shocked at the price it went for, but end of one chapter and the beginning of another. congrats to the person who bought it. Hope he enjoys it the same as we did, although probably not for 60yrs. But you never know!!

09.01.2022 Council's $10 for 10 plants scheme is back! From 1 April until 1 June 2014 (or while stocks last), local residents can pick up a voucher from the Woodville Road... Civic Centre for just $10 which can be used to redeem 10 plants from Provenance Indigenous Plants. The 10 plants for $10 program helps to increase plant diversity, provide habitat for urban wildlife and improve the natural environment. By incorporating locally native plants and landscapes into suburban gardens, we can increase our City's biodiversity and decrease the amount of watering needed. There's only 300 vouchers available, so be quick to avoid disappointment! Proof of residence is required when purchasing your voucher.
