24.01.2022 Club Meeting tonight 27th of October, at 5.30pm, at the South Lismore Bowlo.

24.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT South Lismore Celtic FC is pleased to announce their coaching staff for the 2021 FFNC Men’s Premier League season. Experienced coach and player, Rick Austen, has been appointed as the new Head Coach of the Men’s Premier League squad. ... Austen will be supported by Patrick Kable, who will return to coach the Championship League squad after a successful first season with the young side in 2020. Experienced manager and former FFNC Coach of the Year, Scott Collis, will provide assistance to Austen and Kable, while Celtic legend Justin Lefty Marks will continue as the goal keeping coach for a fourth consecutive season. The appointments and mixture of new and returning coaches brings a lot of excitement to the Club who are focused on continuing their impressive return to the Premier League since promotion in season 2018. Austen, a multiple Premiership winning player, most recently coached the Liverpool FC NSW International Academy’s U18 squad. Having been part of their system for a number of years, we know Austen brings across modern coaching techniques and an understanding of Club values. Austen said he was extremely attracted at the proposition of coaching such a young and committed squad, something that other local coaches don’t always get to experience. I’m excited about the challenge ahead. I’ve been attracted to South Lismore because they are a young, successful and committed squad, said Austen. I’m really looking forward to continuing the hard work & values that has been instilled in the playing group & continuing to develop the squad to play exciting attacking football. Supporting Austen is Patrick Kable who returns to take the reigns of the Championship League side for consecutive seasons. Also a multiple Premiership winner, Kable said he’s keen to work with the team and continue to see these guys develop as players. Last year was very enjoyable and I’m looking forward to being able to spend more time with the young side and hopefully have a very positive season with Rick and the players. South Lismore Celtic FC are extremely excited for season 2021 to commence and see what the new coaching staff can deliver. We thank Rick, Paddy, Scott and Lefty for taking on the massive commitment of coaching our Premier squad and we wish you all the best for the upcoming season.

18.01.2022 2020 Premier League Pointscore Champions

17.01.2022 ON THIS DAY It’s been 12 months since that famous night at Crozier Oval! Our young squad secured the Cyril Mayo Cup as Premier Division Champions for the first time in 26 years!... Noah Coleman scored two goals and also claimed the Terry Greedy Medal as Player of the Match! Next weekend at South Lismore we take on the same opponents, Byron Bay FC, to see if we can achieve a Club first of becoming back-to-back Champions. What an incredible night this was for our Club!

15.01.2022 THANK YOU South Lismore FC would like to take this opportunity to thank the departing Premier League head coach, Cameron Hyde, for his enormous contribution to our Club. Due to his ongoing health battle, Cameron can no longer provide the commitment needed to coach our Premier squad and therefore, after four seasons in charge, he has decided to step aside and spend more time with his young family. ... Cameron returned to the Club in season 2017, winning the First Division Minor and Major Premierships and promotion back into the Premier League. He then backed this up by remarkably claiming the Premier League Major Premiership in 2019 and the Premier League Minor Premiership in 2020. Individually, Cameron was voted as the 2017 FFNC Community Coach of the Year, the 2018 FFNC Premier League Coach of the Year and he was inducted as a South Lismore FC Life Member in 2019. It’s the role that Cameron has played in contributing to the growth of our Club that he is most proud of. He has seen player numbers significantly rise, sponsorship increase and a positive culture return to the Club. Cameron said he finds these achievements just as rewarding as winning trophies. It’s been an absolute honour and privilege to coach my junior club in the Premier League. I’ve grown up playing for and supporting South Lismore and I’m extremely proud of the players that have played a role in the return of Souths to the top of the comp. Some of my best mates returned to the club in 2017 to help me achieve a goal of getting the Club back in Prems and I’ll forever be thankful to them for doing that. I’ve absolutely loved my time with the players but it’s time to prioritise and that means spending more time with my family. They’ve sacrificed a lot over the years so it’s about time I returned the favour, said Hyde. We, SLCFC, cannot thank Cameron enough for the contribution he has made to our Club. We know he’ll continue to play a part behind the scenes and support everyone in green and white. We wish you all the best with your continued fight, Cameron. We’re all behind you through this!

08.01.2022 FULL TIME It was a weekend full of Grand-Final’s for FFNC’s senior competitions and South Lismore FC participated in three of these - Women’s Division Four, Men’s Division Seven and Men’s Premier League. Unfortunately for our three teams the results didn’t go our way. However, it’s fantastic to see our small club, once again, well represented in the final’s. ... On Friday night our Women’s team took on a spirited Dunoon outfit at South Lismore. The game was expected to be a close one as the last meeting between the two resulted in a 4-3 victory to the Celtics. The match proved to be an entertaining one with scores locked a 1-1 at the completion of 90 minutes, with Maddie Barnsley scoring for the Celtics and sending the match into extra-time. Captain Kass Whaite scored a goal during extra-time but it wasn’t enough as Dunoon scored two goals of their own during this time to secure a 3-2 victory. It’s been an incredible season for our Women as the newly formed team won the Minor Premiership and Alinta Ahrens was awarded the Golden Boot for the most goals scored in the competition. We’re looking forward to 2021 and hope that our original three Women’s teams from 2020 can return and have an enjoyable season! On Saturday it was a chance for the Men to take centre stage as our Division Seven team travelled to Nimbin to take on an enthusiastic Header’s outfit. Having slipped up at the last hurdle to claim the Minor Premiership, the Men were out for revenge against the opponents they had full respect for. Nimbin, as expected, showed their class on the day. The energy they played with could not be matched by the Celtics despite brave performances from the men in green and white. Nimbin got out to a three goal lead before goals from Neil Wornes and Kye Newberry brought the final scoreline to 3-2 in favour of the home side. Our Division Seven team is another newly formed side which includes numerous players who have either laced the boots for the first time ever or for the first time in over a decade. They have thoroughly enjoyed playing this season and look forward to returning in 2021. Congratulations to both teams on the success you’ve had in season 2020. The Men’s Premier League match report will be posted later...
