18.01.2022 COVID UPDATE: Have you downloaded the app? In line with the latest State Government regulation, from today SPU are required to keep a register of anyone visiting Challenger Reserve clubhouse. This includes anyone gathering under the veranda and anyone entering the clubhouse, toilets, equipment shed or changerooms. If you are heading down to the club make sure you download the SafeWA app and scan the QR code on the posters around the club. This will automatically register you ...and allow us to trace people that may have been exposed to COVID in the case of an outbreak. 06.01.2022 With storms forecast but just a drizzle and a chill, SPUFC ladies (white), Armadale Soccer Club ladies (red), SPUFC Men’s (blue) and loved ones gathered for a minute’s silence prior to the Tribute Game for one of our fallen, Sarah Mullen. Thank you to the over 200 people that came down to celebrate our 6 to 12 year old players including City of South Perth Mayor Greg Milner. Bouncy castles, an inflatable obstacle course and soccer challenges were highlights of the day for both our younger players and our President Simon Baptista. 02.01.2022 TRIBUTE GAME: We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved player, Sarah Mullen. In honour of Mullen, we invite players, family and friends to come support her soccer team play at home: South Perth United FC vs Armadale SC (Ladies, Division 2)... Date: Sunday 16 August Time: Arrive from 2.30pm, Game starts from 3-4.30pm Location: Challenger Reserve, Manning (park on Challenger Ave). What: Prior to the game we will have a one minute silence on the field. You are invited to join the club. After the game, we will have a BBQ at the Club House at the field. BBQ will be free for players. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available to everyone at cost price. Sarah’s surname has been printed on the number 7 jersey, which was her favourite. At each game this season, coach Meg Heller selects a player to wear this jersey in honour of Sarah. The player is chosen for their soccer skills and values with the club. The jerseys also have R U OK printed on them, after a charity page was established in Sarah’s name. 01.01.2022 Every year the club hosts four weekends of soccer for U6 and U7 players with over 80 children from different clubs. We are halfway through and have two weekends of soccer madness left! A huge thank you to each and every parent, coach, manager and committee member that makes these weekends run as smoothly as possible. From marking lines, manning the canteen, cooking sausages and supporting the kids on the pitch - every task is important. A particularly special thank you to South Perth United’s Junior Coordinator, Simone who has put in hours of work to ensure a well-organised fun event thank you for your boundless energy and continuing support!
