23.01.2022 The team photo for Saturday Mens Open Division 7 L-R: Vic Kalbarczyk, Dustin Edwards (Captain), Alex Conacher, Shane Spengler The club would like to show appreciation for Vic Kalbarczyk's remarkable achievements in pennants.... Vic (now in his 60’s) regularly plays pennant competition each weekend and on the court he is very competitive, the quiet achiever, a gentleman and many times he’s matched against good quality opponents. With his court craft and stamina he surprises these young players with his determination and pushes them to the limit and after several hours in singles, he then goes on to play doubles. Vic, in his younger days, grew up in in Poland, and was a very good Table Tennis player where he coached children and he also enjoyed playing soccer and competing in athletics. Vic started playing Tennis when he was 28 years old after arriving in Australia, and with determination and hard work he quickly improved to the player he is now. He has always been respectful to his opponents, and a role model for other players and is always encouraging his team mates to believe in themselves and enjoy the game.

21.01.2022 A great evening was had by around 50 attendees at the club's Christmas Party last night. The slightly chilly weather meant it was indoor affair which created a cozy atmosphere. Well done to Rina and all her helpers for a job well done.

18.01.2022 Dependent on any Covid 19 Restrictions Tuesday Night Fun Competition is anticipated to commence on - 16 February for an anticipated period of six weeks to 23 March. The format is teams of two men and two women playing three 25 minute games.... Two of the sets are mixed. Team names 1980s bands. Start time is 7pm for a quick hit up followed by strict start time at 7.15pm. On completion of play the bar is open for those who like to socialise. If you wish to participate - as regular player or reserve please nominate by emailing Lorraine - [email protected] by Thursday 11th February. Include any dates that you will be unavailable.

Name dates you are not available during the six week season anticipated to end around the 5 June or 12 June if it rains. are you interested in playing in a social tennis format for one night on 17 April let me know by 4pm 17th April. The cost is unchanged at $5 per night for members and $10 for non club members. Non club members are very welcome. Encourage anyone you know who played tennis in the past and would like to try playing again. Autumn evenings should be an ideal temperature for tennis. Drinks and nibbles are enjoyed after a bit of friendly competition.

The following requirement below is mandatory until Sunday 14th Feb; All players and visitors over 12 years of age must wear masks at all times except when actively playing tennis on court. Masks must be worn when entering and leaving your court.... And please DON’T forget to register via the SafeWA APP on entry or by signing the registration book at the Captains Desk.

09.01.2022 South Perth Tennis Centre Tuesday Night Fun Competition Term 1 Finals. It was a hard fought final with Team Novotna overcoming the Team Graf reversing last week’s results. Congratulations to Hamza, Tariq, Troy and Jessica. Commiserations to Ben, Marius, Damian and Areta.... In all thirty two players participated throughout the 6 week competition enjoying tennis during the mild evenings under the excellent lighting on our new courts. Drawn from names of participants the lucky winner of the Breakpoint Tennis coaching voucher donated by Andrijano was Julian Gale. We will have several weeks of social play on Tuesday nights before the Term 2 Competition, which is anticipated to commence on May 1st. Please contact Richard Chyne by email ([email protected]) if you can assist with labour and any required equipment for any of the following tasks:... - Sweeping the hard and synthetic courts - require leaf blowers and brooms - Tidying and weeding clubhouse grounds and pavement - requires gardening tools and brooms - Raking and mulching the sand patch between the clubhouse and synthetic courts - require wheel barrows, spades and rakes - Putting up court score boards on all courts - scissors, string, pliers - Erecting shade shelters - hammer Even if you only have an hour to spare, your assistance is greatly appreciated
