23.01.2022 What a beautiful day for a Teddy Bears Picnic. Pop down to Pine Rivers Park for a morning of fun activities.

18.01.2022 Over term 4, with the warmer weather with us once again, the children were captivated by the water opportunities in our Kindy outdoor environment. This prompted the birth of a recent project, the "Water System". In the early stages the children planned and thought hard about ways to upcycle and revamp the very bare water wall. During the planning stages the children tinkered and experimented with some loose parts- pipes, funnels, and plastic tubing, with some "hands on learn...ing". Whole group discussions were had and designs drawn and discussed. Internet research was conducted and the children were inspired by the contributions of others. Collectively, many voices have contributed to the Water System's construction. Letters were written between each group to communicate, consider and share information. Families were also involved in the process as the children wondered what else could be used, upcycled, or re-purposed from their homes. The children are delighted with the result, and the Water System is now a source of much enjoyment. The learning also continues as the children measure, compare volumes and observe the motion of the water travelling through the funnels, pipes, watering cans and cups!

10.01.2022 Today, on Remembrance Day, we think about and remember the members of our armed forces who have fought, are fighting or have died in the line of duty. Yesterday, the children were lucky to receive a visit from one of our Kindy Dads who is in the Army. The best part was dressing up in the Army gear. To show their appreciation, the children sent a Christmas card, with their fingerprints, to a member of the Australian Defence Force to thank them. Lest We Forget!

09.01.2022 The Kindy children loved their annual visit to Strathpine West State School. Today, they were lucky enough to experience: music with the Preps, sport, computers in the Library, playing in the Prep playground area and a visit with Mr Star. The definite favourite of the day was buying ice-blocks at the school tuckshop. The children always love this day out. The excursion is such a rich learning experience, and a wonderful opportunity to introduce Kindy children to a school environment, as well as strengthen our ties with the Community. Thank you to the Year 6 Leaders for chaperoning us around the school.

05.01.2022 Our sailing boat is up and ready for the children to use and they are loving it. Thanks to Tony Begg for building it over the holidays. It looks fabulous.

04.01.2022 It's that time of the year when we... Harvest our Lilly Pilly berries and make jam. Sing all our favourite songs with our families and friends. Enjoy that favourite moment of Kindy or play opportunity "just one more time". To all our South Pine Kindy community, we wish you all a safe, relaxing, replenishing and wonderful holiday break! ... See you all again in 2021. For any enquiries over the holiday break please email us at [email protected].

01.01.2022 Recently, discussions have emerged with the children about the safety of our rope swing and that our Softfall is great to land on! This week the children were involved in spreading the delivery of new Softfall throughout the playground. Here the children are participating, considering safety, taking shared responsibility for our kindy environment, and considering the way they interact with others. We are supporting children to become 'global citizens' who think about the impact of their actions and contributions.
