14.01.2022 TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS Teams for this weekend as we keep our fingers crossed for a miraculous clearing of the rain and some sun to dry the decks and fields A big weekend for Southport-Labrador Club and 2 of our Tigers. As we see the return of Paul Johnston to our 1st XI side who will, for the 1st time, be playing with his son Bailey in the Black Cap for the Tigers ... A great moment for both of them to add to the memories made at the Tigers for their family over the years! Congratulations fellas We are planned to hold our sponsors day this Sunday, which seems to have a magnet of rain attached to it yet again after postponing during the December downpours. This also coupled with our Over 40’s Cricket this weekend with both our Div 2 & Div 3 side in actions or their last round of action before finals in 2 weeks has a busy weekend of cricket planned if we can get a break in the weather. Our Div 2 side who are chasing that back to back premiership are at home at Tigerland to entertain the sponsors so get down and get behind the guys and meet the amazing network of people who support our club Our Div 3 side are looking to lock in their semi final also this weekend. No team named as not finalised as yet. Skipper Gools will touch base with all playing If the games go ahead this weekend we have 1 fresh debutant this week; 2nd XI - Andrew Griffin Goodluck Griffo & we are sure you will put in 110% in all areas where needed for the 2’s! 13.01.2022 TIGERS WRAP UP & PLAYERS OF ROUND Another hard fought round for the Tigers with the conclusion of our Top 3 grades 2 Day Matches Unfortunately not the overall result we wanted. We went 2 wins from our top 5 grades, with our 3rd & 5th XI taking home wins. ... Some close games throughout with our 1st XI & 2nd XI fighting hard and showing the Tiger spirit Unfortunately though our 1st, 2nd XI & 4th XI fell short on the weekend with the opposition taking the wins. Our over 40’s making the results swing back in the Tigers favour with 2/2 wins! Taking us 4 wins from 7 games over the weekend Some fantastic performances on the weekend saw us unable to decide on just one Presidents player of the round so this week it was PLAYERS OF THE ROUND yet again with the 2 day matches making it hard to decide and both of these Tigers are more than deserving; Congratulations to; Devon Hamley - putting a massive fright into 1st place on the ladder - Palm Beach Currumbin setting up a chaseable target for the 1st XI taking a massive 6/41 which included 9 maidens from nearly 21 overs! & Sarjak Tapodhan - making his 3rd XI debut opening the batting for the run chase of 229 set by Queens the week before. He set the tone and got the team moving with his opening partner, Under 17 player Raakin putting on an opening stand of 92 before Raakin’s wicket fell. Sarjak then continued scoring at more than a run a ball to really put the guys in a winning position. Sarjak bought up his first in the Yellow & Black scoring 101 off only 100 balls! Thank you to our sponsor for sponsoring our Round Wrap up this week Sharp Electrical Services and our Players of the Round sponsor Sporty's Warehouse Bring on this weeks games if the weather holds out for us with only 4 more weeks of cricket before finals/end of season #likeatiger

Speak thank you to our very own Ronny Lee who against all odds got a deck up for our 2nd XI at Tigerland. Also all the players who helped running back and forward when needed to take covers off/out covers on! True Tiger spirit Unfortunately the rain did take some casualties with both of our 1st & 5th XI called off before Saturday lunchtime. Not quiet the results or clean sweep of the 3 grades that got on that we wanted. However we finished up with 1 win to close out round 11 and the end of all one day matches for our 1st, 2nd & 3rd XI teams as they now move to 2 Day fixtures for the remainder of the season Our 3rd XI kept their winning streak alive with 7 straight wins to finish up the first half of the season and to get the only win on the board for the Tigers this weekend - ROUND 11 RESULTS - 2nd Grade: Tigers 92 (29.2) S McGrath - 31* Def by.
